Getting ready for my wedding day was not pleasant in the heat. There was no manager on duty when I called on Friday and none on the Saturday. I requested maintenance early evening on Friday and again Saturday morning. lnstead, I was given the option to go to a conference room in the middle of trying to get ready for my wedding after my make-up and hair team setup and had all their tools out and had already started. Doing so would have jeopardise my entire itinerary and we would have been late to the church. What I received was 3 fans late in the day which provided no relief especially since there were 5 people getting ready and makeup team of 2 people using hot curling irons and blow dryers. it was a brutal day and wedding night. No one showed up. Furthermore, when I called the second time on the day of my wedding I was told there was already a ticket for the broken air conditioner prior to my checking. To make matters worse, because it was so hot when we were trying to pack and leave, I had the front desk person knocking on my door and in insincerely and nastily asking me to get out as soon as possible because it was 10 passed 11 am. When I questioned if they were going to book the room immediately with a non-working air conditioner, she snarkily told me that maintenance needed to get in which I found insulting that for for 2 nights I suffered and my wedding team, bridesmaid and 83 year old mother suffered in the heat but now there was as mad rush to evict us for maintenance. To add insult to injury my husband and I were hastily getting everything together so that we can get out of there because it was so hot and he was sweating so much that his wedding band slipped off his finger and into one of our packing bags which had us in a panic all day until we found it.
No guest should have this type of experience especially a bride and groom on their wedding day and night. In addition I was told the cheaper of the two rooms(we booked another room for 2 nights for my family) that we booked would be comped for a total $220 and not the full $660 and I was still charged the...
Read moreExcellent customer service! EXCEPT THE GUY WORKING AT NIGHT WHO HAS A THING ABOUT LYING. TOLD ME HE WAS SOLD OUT ON A MONDAY NIGHT ... COME TO FIND OUT LATER THEY WERE NO WHERE NEAR SOLD OUT NOT BY A LONGSHOT. . BRYANT WAS HIS NAME. HAD A WEIRD ATTITUDE EVERYTIME I CAME DOWN. Mind you I'm between houses right now and from working the hotel circuit for years before. .I know the ins and outs of the business. Other than him being a pretty bad front desk employee, it's got a very Friendly and very Helpful staff from the front desk Cat , Lisa , AJ and Tony in housekeeping to housekeeping staff. As a former housekeeping manager... I've seen an awful lot of mishaps .. drama .. ppl who just hate their jobs and don't care. Makes a huge difference especially in a hotel environment. This Hamptons employees are top notch except for Bryant. They deserve a raise! You can tell by atmosphere and the way it feels from the minute you step through any hotel how your stay will basically go. Had not 1 problem ..room was perfect . .. clean and staff were ready and willing to help a guest with any sort of issue.. ( ex. Under the entertainment center runaway kitty... lol .. inside joke but seriously... great staff! ) that makes the experience 10000 x better! :) thanks guys and gals .. .. reminds me of why working in hotels can be a such a great and rewarding experience, meeting all kinds of people with all kinds of lives. Thanks guys! I'd definitely recommend this Hampton above all other places to stay in the area. Though being that I literally just up and changed after a month of spending good money there... I may not go all our and recommend as I up and left when Bryant told me they were sold out on a Monday. That was just straight up an a hole kind of move. There were 5 cars in the lot that night. I already knew they weren't sold out but I decided not to make a big stink about it as I can spend my good hard earned money on Homewood Suites right nextdoor to them. I...
Read moreLet's begin with good- -Hotel clean -Cleaning staff very nice -Desk staff very nice
Bad- -breakfasts Horrible. Out of a bag. Heard other guests comment how bad it is/was. Got sick twice from it, seldom ate it. Bagel was only "safe" item.
IN THE LOBBY free tea and coffee.....The hot water tasted like coffee. It was obvious the hot water is placed in coffee containers. I informed the hotel and manager John twice; a simple task; never fixed. I DONT DRINK / LIKE COFFEE. I drink tea.....
-hotel filled with smoke, burning smell one night.....eyes were even burning. Fire department came. They said it could have been a carbon dioxide leak from the main road 611. Scary.
-another night fire alarm kept going off repeatedly. Fire conpany came; Problem from pool area they said.
I was staying there for a long time and asked for a fair rate that they do offer people and would not grant it. Then they lowered my rate slightly and did not go retroactive as the manager John offered. Then he said he was mistaken.....he said his boss wouldn't let him. I asked to speak to "his boss" he said he left..... Then I asked for the owners names and contact and John WOULD NOT give it to me....
John the manager and I discussed in detail that I might be staying an "extended stay" and he told me what my rate would be..... Then he informed me I had to "vacate" because they were booking other people : selling out. LOL
-When I had suggested going to their sister hotel earlier; John the manager told me they were sold out and would rather me stay there. I called the sister hotel and they were NOT sold out the nights John said they were..... I discussed it with another employee and apparently it got back to John and he then told me to vacate....(interesting)
My room was a very small room too....they put me in.
What happened to good ole customer...
