Checked out Manhattan bagel for the first time today. Coming from NY, I have a high standard for bagels and got used to having some of the best ones from the city. We tried a Santa Fe bagel sandwich, a Garden Egg with avocado, a strawberry cream cheese strudel and a cinnamon crumb muffin all for the first time.
The Santa Fe is grilled egg white, Turkey sausage, cheddar, roasted tomato salsa and jalapeño salsa cream cheese on an warm Asiago thin bagel. This is a hefty sandwich, lots of ingredients and because of the jalapeño salsa, there is a little kick to it. It’s a bit messy because of the salsas/cream cheese so beware, but tastes pretty good and would probably order it again. You can swap out the bagel which I had thought of doing initially, but glad I didn’t because I think it would have been too much.
The Garden Egg White has egg whites, avocado and tomato spread on an everything bagel which we swapped out for a jalapeño cheddar bagel. It was a good breakfast sandwich, one consideration would be to add in some meat if that’s something you’re wanting. The actual bagel is think and soft and warm, which we loved.
The strawberry and cream cheese strudel was delicately sweet, a very light hint of strawberry and cream cheese with sugar dusted on the strudel pastry. It would be awesome if it was warmed up just a tad bit. I wasn’t a big fan of the cinnamon crumb muffin personally but the hubby really liked it. And I think it would go well warmed up with a cup of hot coffee.
There are a lot of good options on the menu with variety (including lunch!). Fast and friendly service, and there are catering options. Will be back to try out other bagels...
Read moreFood was good, however service was very bad to the least! Guy takes my order and somehow completely forgets to put part of the order in. Wondering whats wrong with my order as my son finished the 2nd of two sandwiches he ordered, I ask the same guy if there is something special about my order since it was taking so long. He said no there shouldn't be and asks me who took my order. I finally get my sandwich and was offered something for free. I said no thanks, but I foolishly decided to order 2 bagels that they were out of. The same guy says they would take about 15-20 mins. to make. They did only charge us for one bagel which was nice, however fifty mins. later we were still waiting for the bagels. We finally get our 2 bagels, and they were seriously about half the size of all the other bagels! Very very...
Read moreI know COVID has been a problem for everyone, especially the food industry. But this place has been going downhill. My wife always grabs me an Asiago bagel when she's there, because she knows that's my favorite. The one I pulled out of the bag this morning was a joke. It was clearly under-cooked. It was 2/3 it's normal size (being generous here) and it had 5 finger-sized impressions on the bottom side. Not sure if that was from not being baked enough, but it was pathetic enough to prompt this review. And it's not the first time. I would have been embarrassed to put this in a customer's bag.
EDIT (5/5/22): I've revised my review from 2 to 4 stars. Last couple of trips have been a vast improvement. My original comments stand, because things happened that way. But improvement should be...
