Never been here, but wanted a very nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. Told reservation agent the nature of the event, and not one person said a thing. Took my parents here tonight for their 70th anniversary (7 people) and ate outside due to covid and my parents being 92 & 89. Original person who approached us, did not explain themselves as a trainee - which is a mistake. Don't approach a table at $50 an entree restaurant and not make it clear you are not capable of answering questions. A simple "Hi, my name is x, and I am trainee assigned to assist you, but the waitress will be with you shortly". We had no idea and started peppering her with questions, which she could not answer and I was aghast that she did not know the answers. Once she told us she was a trainee - it clicked. Plus we asked her for waters, and would never had done so if we had known she was not our server. Server did finally come and bring the waters we requested to the other woman (again, who we did not realize was not our server). This woman was knowledge and pleasant. Everything went fine. Service and food took a while, but I guess that is expected at a nicer restaurant. My Mom's steak was not cooked as requested. My steak was under done (ordered medium) and my sister's was over cooked, she ordered rare. We switched. Halfway thru our meal, we realized we should never had switched. Lesson learned to cut in half immediately and assess versus cut a 1/2" into it and make an incorrect assessment. My husband's demi glace was cold and when he ordered one that was hot, he got a completely different sauce. Everything was very good otherwise. Ordered dessert to take home, my Mom and I ordered the apple crumble. Sister and husband ordered cheesecake. Apples in the crumble were way underdone as if it was rushed. Ice cream was put in what would be a very small sauce take out container (think ketsup) and it was ridiculously small. I've ordered a crumble in a much less expensive restaurant and rec'd a full scoop in a soup type container for take home. For $12, this is unacceptable. Yes, I could have nuked it when home to soften them up, but I shouldn't have had to. In all everything was good. Not excellent. And for a $570 meal for 7 - it should have been much better. Overall disappointed for the price...
Read moreI was looking forward to dining here but left feeling disappointed and robbed. At 7pm on a Friday, I was happy to walk in and be seated in 5 minutes. The place was comfortable and not crowded. The employees were friendly and courteous. The 4 of us were seated at a large table with room for 4 more. We each received a complimentary salad and bread with our meal. The salad was fresh and tasty. The bread was warm and soft (it included butter, oil, and a tasty dipping sauce). The beer was expensive ($6 domestic bottle) but expected for a fine dining atmosphere. Our meals took close to an hour to arrive, which was way longer than anticipated due to the number of customers. Meal 1 was the $27 double crab cake entree. This was a smack in the face to anyone who enjoys crab. The filler contained an overbearing amount of breadcrumbs and green peppers, so much that you couldn’t taste the crab at all. The sweet potato side was as expected. Meal 2 was the $36 lobster. The portion was surprisingly large, the taste was good, but the lobster was dry and over cooked. The sides were grilled asparagus (which was the worst part of the meal) and fingerling potatoes. The asparagus arrived burnt without any hint of moisture whatsoever. I’ve see stalks of bamboo that would have had more flavor and probably easier to chew. The potatoes were flash fried with skins on and tasted like they were dropped in dirty donut oil. I would have expected to pick these up at a carnival, not a fine dining restaurant! Meal 3 was the 8oz filet $33. The steak was cooked perfectly and was not covered in pepper or seasoning, just good, plain, melt in your mouth, steak. The sweet potato side was good. I’m not sure who’s idea it was to add teriyaki sauce as a side, but it doesn’t work well and is not recommended. Meal 4 was the kids $9 pasta and meat balls. Unfortunately they were out of meatballs but not to worry, they will charge you the same price for plain noodles with butter. On the flip side, they delivered an entire pound of pasta to a 5 year old! Kudos to you chef for making up for the lack of balls! To wrap it up, I would rather spend $75 at red lobster and have a similar experience than spend $140 here and be super disappointed!!! Two...
Read moreMy husband & I used to love to go here by ourselves without the kids at least a few times a year. The last 2 occasions, it hasn't been the same. Our huge Delmanico steak for 2 on valentines day was way over cooked & it was barely edible. Our waitress was borderline insulting. We asked for sweet tea they didn't have it so we did what we do at any other restaurants that have a bar & ordered iced tea with a side of simple syrup. This usually isn't a problem any where else. But for whatever reason this waitress refused to bring us enough simple syrup for both me & my husbands drinks. It was rather ridiculous. Finally I said can u please just bring me sugar packets bc this iced tea is very Strong & bitter, it was actually horrible! She made us feel bad for asking her for the appropriate amount we wanted which i don't get why she cared she wasn't drinking it. Then we felt like rushed the whole time up until it was the end of night & people were leaving for nite & we were last few people in there & she offered to give us dessert on the house. I think she was trying to redeem herself since it was almost tip time. Which my husband gave her a nice tip but also filled out the customer satisfaction review card that was left for us with the bill. He said we probably won't be back after this experience. It seems the quality of steaks aren't the same either. We are sad but like everywhere else, it seems going out to eat Just isn't worth it anymore with rising costs & sinking quality at these...
