Burgandy Lane Bed & Breakfast is the best kept secret in three states (PA, VA, & MD). Close to everything! Comfortable, clean, cheerful, beautifully decorated. Historical building with only three owners since 1887. Choose the Honeymoon Suite with Wirpool Tub for a Romantic getaway. Chose The Castle room to treat yourself like a King and Queen, also a lovely romantic getaway. Africa room with a large porch for the outdoors person or a smoker. Coose the Magnolia room for a restful night sleep. Off street free parking brings you to a beautiful and inviting patio to sit in the shade and enjoy the peace and quiet. Sit in the downstairs parlor with a good book or to play a game. Several nice touches from Miss Martha as well as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoo & conditioners as well as candy bowls can be found in every room. The Castle Room has a King size bed, claw foot tub & shower, refrigerator, microwave, small desk to work at, if you must and a chair to relax and watch TV while enjoying a electric fireplace on cold days & nights. Open all year round with A/C and heat. Several rooms have ceiling fans. Caters to hickers on the Appalachian Trail (AT), Honeymooners, Romantics, Fall leave gazers, Apple collectors and those that travel to go somewhere or to just get a way. Breakfast from Miss Martha are meals fit for a King or hungry hiker. Miss Martha, Dave and their dog Sunny will make you feel safe and at home. Coffe, Hot Chocolate and Tea are available all day, everyday. Instant soft hot water is available at the turn of the handle, robes are available for guest to snuggle up in. Yes, a best kept secret of three states! Hope to come back just for the pleasures of Burgandy Lane Bed & Breakfast and the...

Came to the area for a family event and wanted to stay a night in a nice bed and breakfast and found The Amberson House. The hosts, Amanda and Diane, were pleasant and extremely helpful. On the day of our arrival, I received a text message from Amanda asking our approximate arrival and on our drive up received a message about the parking location, and to pull in front of the building if we were unable to find it. Being that I have a good sense of direction, I was able to navigate to the back of the building where the parking was located pretty easily. The backyard of the bed & breakfast is quaint with a nice seating area and firepit, as well as a nice patio and potential for playing cornhole and other fun activities. |The public areas including the dining room, living room and sitting areas are all nice. Our room was on the first floor. Amanda said it used to be a physician's exam room. Interesting! The room was spacious, had a fairly comfortable bed, a number of outlets around the room and very nice furnishings. The bathroom, albeit small, was nice and the shower had an excellent stream and the shampoo and shower gel on the wall, was very nice. Our breakfast the next morning was home cooked to order and very tasty. Just enough to get the day started, but not too much to feel overly full. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate were always available, as well as cookies and pastries. Plus, this B&B was super conveniently located with lots of restaurants within a short walk. Highly recommend staying at this B&B if you are going to be in the area or are just...

There’s a lot that goes into running an inn and Amanda knocks it out of the park. Arrived for a graduation at nearby Mount St. Mary’s and an unexpected romantic getaway materialized around the trip. The rooms were fun and cozy. The food prepared by Amanda was out of this world delicious. We were able to see sights that were recommended to us, including the best way to see Gettysburg from a true local. Many of the guests were trekking the Appalachian Trail. Not only were they provided with a warm bed and meals, but the Inn picks up hikers and shuttles them free of charge. Laundry service provided and loaner clothes so they can wash everything here at the halfway point. At the end of the day the accommodations alone would deserve a 5 star review, but the service provided makes this a stellar stay. If you are traveling, or simply want an authentic B&B experience, this is the place for you! Thanks...
