Tried the Crispy Biscuit here in Waynesboro with my wife and daughter for the first time the other day. The first thing I noticed when walking through the front doors was the motif. This place has a very eclectic feel, and under all of the cool stuff to look at is a very antiqueie looking building that just makes you feel kinda cozy and even takes you back in time a little. Once we seated ourselves, we were greeted by a very young little polite waitress in training, apparently, lol. She was cute as a button. She gave us our menus and told us that our waitress would be with us shortly. A short time later, the waitress showed up, got us drinks, and told us that she would give us some time to figure out what we wanted. Once she returned, we ordered, and our food started showing up a short time later. My wife and I both had a bowl of the cream of crab soup. It was pretty good, and my wife liked it too, but I think I'm more of a vegetable crab soup guy, so I think I'll try some of that next time we visit. For my meal, I ordered the Main Street Burger, which is a hamburger with pulled pork and Mac and cheese on top. It was very tasty and very messy, so I do not recommend it for the dainty eater. My daughter had the turkey bacon avocado panini, and she loved it. My wife had a garden or side salad, and for what it cost, I have to say it wasn't much. We all had the Boardwalk fries, and they were probably some of the best fries I've had at a sit-down restaurant. When we we're done with our meals, we decided on milkshakes and wow, very impressive, quite expensive but in the end worth the money. So, in the end, the food was pretty good, the service was good and the motif was great. We will be back to try some more dishes. I just think when we go back, it will be either dinner or dessert, with both we dropped almost a hundred bucks but that being said if you ever find yourself hangin in Waynesboro and you get hungry make sure to give The Crispy Biscuit a try and see how you like it...
Read moreI would say maybe it was an off night, but we were 1 of 2 tables in the entire place and it still took us almost half an hour to get our food that was just 2 of us, and I received my food and then my partner had to wait another 8 minutes to get theirs. They ordered a breakfast burrito, and I ordered a panini BBQ sandwich. The sandwich was $14, which, in my opinion, was definitely not worth it. There was barely any barbecue, and the Mac and cheese was very bland and didn't even taste like anything. My partner did say that their breakfast burrito was delicious and looked very filling. Another problem, we also had to wait another 30 minutes for 2 milkshakes, because the waitress was constantly running back-and-forth, saying she was working on it, which I would understand if the place was busy, but the other table had coffee and that was it. There were people coming in as we were finally getting our milkshakes, but they had not even placed orders yet. The place itself is nice. Very clean, very esthetically pleasing. But when I went to the restroom twice, I saw one of the employees sitting on a bench on his phone the entire time. They were there doing nothing, so it wasn't just a 15 minute Break. If you are that busy and understaffed, then why is the staff sitting around doing nothing while you're running around doing everything? It seems like maybe more management and someone to delegate tasks would definitely help this place, and someone to improve the food quality and maybe the portions. Everyone seems to say they're more known for their breakfast. But we will be looking at other places before We decide to come back a second time.Aside from the milkshake's also being ten dollars which we did not know when we ordered, if we had known that there is no way we would...
Read moreI try to support small town business when I can. Living in Waynesboro for about 12yrs now, I have tried The Crispy Biscuit a few times, and more times than not, having been disappointed with the experience. This last time, my fiancé and I decided to order some waffles for National Waffle Day. I ordered the creamed chipped beef waffle, which comes with bacon or sausage, eggs and potatoes. As per the websites menu, unless specified which you choose, the meal will come with scrambled eggs and bacon with potatoes for almost $13. My fiancé placed the online order and went to pick it up. Got my order and all I received was a single waffle (which was burned on the bottom) covered in a very non-generous amount of creamed chipped beef and a bag with two and a half burnt pieces of balled up bacon and nothing more. When he called to ask about the missing items, whomever he spoke with decided to argue the fact that the order was made how it appeared on her screen at the restaurant. So $13 was charged for a small amount of inedible food. Apparently, they are not familiar with their own menu and do not take pride when preparing food. It was a simple order and the restaurant was not busy by any means. A previous visit there, we decided to dine in and after waiting 45 mins for food in an otherwise completely empty place, we decided to ask for it to go since so much time was already wasted there. Being told there was an issue having been short handed in the kitchen. I don't care who is making the food, it doesn't take almost an hour to prepare 2 sandwiches and fries!? Anyhow, this place needs some help with service...
