I hate feeling overall disappointed when some of the food is actually good. The sauces here were great but everything shouldn't need sauced... The chips were really good and the chimichanga was pretty good but the quesadilla was flavorless and dry. The chicken looked to be completely unseasoned. Why not atleast marinate it? I feel like I overpaid for Taco Bell. I was served my food in a basket with paper so I asked for a plate obviously considering the food I ordered was to eat with a fork and knife after pouring the sauces on top. I was trying to avoid eating ripped up pieces of paper but she brought me out a dirty plate..... This place needs cleaned up and possibly a redesign. I ended up having to eat around the wet ripped paper considering my basket was cleaner than the plates. This place really has potential. Maybe marinate the chicken and get some solid clean plates and this could have been a 5 star experience. My experience really left me feeling all around...
Read moreI was born and raised for 20 years in Houston, have visited Mexico, Guatemala, and literally hundreds of taquerias up and down the west coast, up and down the east coast. When I say that the Pozole Rojo at Taqueria La Cienega is excellent, it isn't a random statement.

It, the salsa verde, and salsa Rojo were the only things I purchased. All of the above was so good that I am strongly considering going back tomorrow. We had Pozole for my wedding, but the Pozole at Taqueria La Cienega is the best I have ever had. I don't want to die tonight, but I do want their Pozole to be the last meal I ever eat. Yes, I...
Read moreHave to downgrade my review drastically. Original was 5 stars. Food is very good. However this is the second time they have been out of food ( 4 menu items out of about 12 ) and the food has been wrong. This time they where out of chili releno, tamale, churros and one other thing i am forgetting. My wife ordered a el pastor burrito and one with beef and chorizo was given. Suppose to have sides and no sides. While I love to support local, its hard when they either run out of everything and give you the wrong items that they do have. Mind you this has happened twice now. I will give them one more chance but surely will not recommend to anyone. Guess I will have to go to frederick taco bar for good tacos again. At least they don't upcharge you for getting different meats on a 3 taco...
