Drinks: amen, a place that puts more than a drop of alcohol in their drinks! Thanks for the nice craft IPA find, too.
Amen to a place that is open later than the rest of main street.
Food: no flavor at all. How is it even the garlic has no flavor? If I had known this, I would have asked for a condiment...before no one came by for about 20-30 mins. Now I know why folks visit PA and come back saying PA food has no flavor. Not even salt & pepper and/or gravy. I never appreciated that, but now I see...
Kudos to the chef for not overcooking shrimp. However, telling customers you can re-heat meat to get it to the correct level of doneness.... that needs to be done right the first time. Nobody wants their plate going back and forth to get microwaved while having to wait longer to eat.
Most importantly: it is unacceptable, on a $23 plate, to serve cheap, mixed vegetable pieces from a frozen bag from Tops. Get some fresh vegetables, hand cut them, and steam them properly. Little cubed, factory processed pieces of vegetables frozen in a bag by Bird's Eye brand, or maybe they were from a can, 17-cents worth served- is unacceptable. (At least those had the expected flavor.) That is BS. It's like selling a new luxury car with flat tires. You don't do it. It's poor, and it shows customers that the quality of the food is not important to the business.
I've had worse experiences, but I don't think I would specifically come back...
Read moreGot married in June and had a small ceremony with 7 people. We took a chance at going to Timeless without calling ahead - all we knew is that they were open amidst the recently relaxed pandemic restrictions. My personal bias growing up in Wellsboro is that you don't go there... ever. It was always known as a pricey place with "small town" food quality. Now the food quality has improved DRAMATICALLY and their menu/price rework was brilliantly executed. Beyond that the staff was very hospitable and incredibly accommodating despite being REALLY busy. Everything was clean, the personality was phenomenal, and the food was delicious.
Edit: Reduced to 2 stars on 2-14-2022. Our waitress was Alicia and she mostly spoke in single syllable words. Kitchen staff apparently doesn't know what medium rare or extra cheese means on a burger. Due to recent dental problems my food has to be very soft and my burger was essentially well done. I would understand all this if the place was busy, however we arrived at 11:30 and within the hour we were there, it was only us and 3 other couples.
When the burger was discussed Alicia bailed out and had her manager handle the rest of the transaction. Manager removed the burger from the order but that doesn't exactly make up for a ruined Valentines lunch. Not sure what happened to service between June last year and now, but pretty pathetic overall compared to the visit that inspired my...
Read moreWe were in Wellsboro this past Sunday to visit the Grand Canyon and couldn't find anywhere to eat. Timeless Destination was the only place open, and the presumed owner (???) urged us to head inside. We were sat quickly and our drink and food orders were put in soon after. Three of the four of us had ordered burgers, and all three of them were burnt and charred, including the buns. Two of us had asked for medium well and the other asked for medium, but they were ALL cooked the same, burnt way. The waitress only checked in on us once, after we had already started eating. After asking for the check, she disappeared for 20 minutes. We are from out of town, so we wanted to get on the road before it got too dark. I was pretty disappointed with the service and the food, so we had made a note stating the burgers were brunt on the reciept just so they were aware. Flash forward to today, I see they tried to charge my card an extra $5 more for the tip than I had written on the receipt. I could NOT recommend this place any less. They committed fraudulent behavior with my card and the service and food were horrible. I will be looking into what the next steps are for reporting...
