We stayed at this hotel in 2023 for the Old Threshers Reunion and decided to stay there in 2025 for the same event. This place went from clean and friendly to the dirtiest, shabbiest and most damaged hotel we have ever stayed at. The carpet was full of white dirt in the hallways and was never vacuumed during our stay of four days. The room smelled like fish, the carpet was damp and sticky the blankets and sheets were put on the beds still damp. The fresh towels and washcloths were stained and had hair on them. The toilet had hair on it when I looked in the bathroom. My husband took a five minute shower and the drain was backing up and never went down while we were there. We never received fresh towels or washcloths the entire stay, even after asking the front desk for them. The pool room was dark as five or the lights were burned out. When using the restroom at the pool there was no toilet paper and under the sink was a pair of men’s old underwear and trash, which had been there a while. The door to our room would not lock properly and different times we could open the door without a key. The sheets and blankets on the beds still damp had grease and stains on them. At breakfast they wouldn’t clean out the warming pans and left food from the previous day. The door to the kitchen was open and it was dirty. All of the doors on the first floor where we stayed had putty where they cut off all the top locks with putty falling on the floor. The outside door you need your keycard for would not work unless you jiggled it just right. Lastly the desk clerks you could tell did not care and said this was because they were understaffed and didn’t have enough blanket and towels for every room. I did not see any cleaning personnel the entire stay. I checked all the other hotels in Mt. Plesant, Fairfield, and other parts of Burlington but there were no openings for the rest of the reunion and had to stay there as there were no other options. A lot changed in two years please know how dirty it is before you stay. It’s frustrating there were no other choices and we had to put up with it, even though when you pay for a hotel you pay for...
Read moreI could go on and on about how filthy and run down the room was--my room included a closet door that wasn't attached to the hinges, layers of grime on most surfaces, lumpy pillows and a mattress you could feel the springs in. Other reviews have covered this fully--this "hotel" is disgusting and I've stayed at cleaner places for half the price.||Dirt and discomfort, though, are less important than SAFETY. Smudgy walls and dirty carpets won't really hurt you. But this motel is downright dangerous.||Mind-blowingly, the staff GAVE OUT MY ROOM NUMBER!!!! This is unconscionable. I'm not sure it's even legal. I could not pick my jaw up off the nauseating floor when someone showed up at my room door without me having disseminated my room number.||The exterior doors that should be keycard-access only are wide open to anyone, and this must be well-known, because on the Saturday night of my stay, the property was full of folks who weren't staying there. The hallway was filled with people charging their phones and engaging with other non-travelers who came and went; it doesn't take much imagination to figure out what they were doing. Hotel staff was non-existent; my guess is some staff must participate in these extra-curriculars, because there was no one at the front desk for hours. ||In addition to the more nefarious non-guest visitors were pool using hoards of kids who ran the halls, pounding and screaming, until well past midnight. Again--no staff to be found to address the nonstop noise. ||So many room doors had such damage that I imagine they must have been broken into--which makes sense given the ease of access and goings on at this property (nestled, as it is, in a remote, barely-lit location well off any through road). I happened to be traveling with a dog, who was on high alert and was the only reason I didn't abandon ship in the middle of the sleepless night. ||I can't believe Wyndham has its name on this...
