This is the worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in! It was filthy. The lobby, elevators and halls looked as if they had not been vacuumed for weeks. The faucet in our bathroom had not been cleaned. The rooms are extremely small. There was nice bedding and the mattresses appear to be relatively new. There was a lady yelling in the hall outside our room on & off for 2 hours around midnight. She did not sound in distress, but was yelling at another guest. I was afraid to open my door or call the front desk. The front desk person in the morning was on a personal phone call and ignored me for several minutes while she finished her call. She then took another call from someone in the hotel who wanted to extend their stay, but had used Expedia, so it was a ten minute conversation and she just ignored the fact that I was still standing there. The hotel is under renovation and they are allowing the workers to eat in the breakfast area in their work clothes and without masks along side the guests. None of them washed their hands. I had lots of time to watch the construction workers going in and out of the breakfast area to the outside work area under the canopy where they were not doing any work. It was pouring rain and the canopy in front of the hotel was blocked due to the construction. The entrance that they were using was not covered and the key card reader was wet and wouldn't read my card until I tried to dry it in the pouring rain. It took five attempts, in the meantime I was soaked. The tile floor inside the door was very dangerous due to the rain and being wet. Three cleaning people got on the elevator with me despite there being signs posted about social distancing in the elevators. I got off before the door closed and waited for another elevator. The desk clerk told me she would refund our points, but that the manager had to do this. I checked after returning home and this was not done. I called the Hilton customer service line and they were very interested in all the details and refunded my points. I suggested that they needed to have someone visit this hotel as it is far below the standard of most Hampton Inns. If they can't keep it clean during renovation, they should close until they finish! I also stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Historic Savannah on this trip. It makes this hotel in Columbia look like a dump! They need to send their employees to the hotel in Savannah for customer...
Read moreTerrible night's sleep and lack of response from management. Miami Hilton gold and have stayed at a lot of properties including many Hampton inns. This is an older property with a small room and the furnishings were a little outdated. The staff was friendly when we checked in. We checked in around 5:30 drop our bags and left the room. We returned around 8:00 p.m. and notice the TV was very loud from the room next door. We could clearly hear what they are watching some type of action show. We put on our small speaker with some music to drown out the sound well we did some work on our laptops. After 11:00 p.m. we wanted to go to bed and the TV is still loud and put a towel at the bottom of the door that connected the room next door but that made it very small improvement. We changed our music to smooth jazz and try to get to sleep. Our music times out after an hour and a half and we are awoken by the sounds of the TV from the room next door. We turned our speaker on again to try to fall asleep. We went and knocked loudly on the door and there was no answer. We called to the front desk and complained and a manager on duty said he would see if there's something he could do. At 3:45 am we called again and he said he couldn't leave the front desk. I couldn't believe that and I told him so. About 10 minutes later he came up and knock loudly on the door for about 3 minutes. No one answered ever. He apologized. We tried to sleep what could barely sleep even with our music as the TV kept waking us up. It was still blaring at 8:15 when we left the room for a while. When we came back at 10:15 it was still blaring but the room door was open in housekeeping staff was inside watching the TV. We wonder if that is their hangout room and they just left it on by mistake the day before. I complained to the person at the front desk and he gave me a card of the manager to call the following week. I called a couple times but did not get the manager but the second time I got an assistant manager. I asked for a refund of half the points I had used to book the room. He said he was not authorized to do that and would talk to the manager. I called back the following week and the manager's voicemail box was full and the assistant manager was not in either. I left another message with the person at the desk and have not heard back from anyone. Very poor...
Read moreMy Convention was awesome! We are back in NC now. I really appreciate Amos at front desk and Brianna. They both greeted my children and I when we finally arrived late. Amos and the shuttle bus driver were familiar with the areas closest walmarts and directions to the arena. I am very thankful for the genuine concern for our needs while we stayed there. Very kind & warm feelings from them. Some laughs too! I felt better after getting to the room. It was so clean I rate a 10. Our housekeeper for room 321 was excellent. The tub was stained so after a bath you see all your dirt... ugh. They remodeled very nicely in hotel and rooms. I rate that a 7 because theres no frig or microwave. So you have to go down and heat up your food or buy food out. Which for us was expensive. I'm on a tight budget. I made sure to ask if there was a frig and microwave, was told both times both items are in your room. When arrived only nice furniture, decor, comfortable beds and pillows. A small circular ice bucket. My hot dogs went bad of course they need a frig I didn't have. That made my stay annoying and probably wouldn't be my first choice to stay at. Breakfast all days we stayed July 27, 28, 29 were excellent. From fresh fruit mix to hot food was perfect! Yummy. My belly was always satisfied in the morning before the Convention. Thank you breakfast ladies! Brianna was so kind to make more cookies for my children. Brianna my kids said your a "great baker." Hampton Inn I-26 please if you do another remodel take care of the tubs that's a nasty light yellow ring stain left while you have beautiful floors, carpet, top of line beds but then you have no where to put food or heat up. You expect your guests to pay what you charge full price and get only a half of a room. Things are missing in it. That's not putting your guest first. I'm taking a star away because of the half job remodel. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO AMOS AND BRIANNA. THEY MADE MY STAY GREAT! APPRECIATE THE WARM SMILES EVERYDAY AND CONCERN IF I HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED. All 4 stars goes to your staff that I mentioned and...
