Waffle House — Restaurant in West Columbia

04/24/19 - Went in at approximately 3:30am. The cook was fast asleep, sitting in a booth with his head on the table. He was the only employee in the restaurant. I was standing inside for about 10 seconds and cleared my throat so he would wake up. He was very nice once awake and got the server from the back. Instead of coming to me at the counter the server stood an uncomfortable distance away after retrieving her pad and asked me what I wanted. I made my way to her so I wouldn't have to shout across the distance and ordered a hash brown bowl to go. While not openly rude, she showed zero effort to be nice as we interacted. I thanked her and she didn't respond. No manners whatsoever. She had earbuds in and I was left to assume after repeating myself multiple times, she had music playing on those earbuds while talking my order.

When I arrived home I discovered my hash browns were inedible due to how badly they were burned. Don't mind mistakes but I do mind a cook knowing he made a mistake and expecting me to eat the mistake. He's trained and knew better than to serve burned food. This shows no pride in his work (as if sleeping on the job hadn't already done that).

The front floor was dirty with visible debris and the the front counter had liquid stains all over it.

Really enjoy coming to the spot because it’s convenient for me. Never really had any problems but when I do come here from time to time There’s this lady with red braids in a bun, And she always has a horrendous attitude towards me. Today I put in an online order, not knowing that I accidentally put it for another Location. The other lady that was working there, she was nice enough to let me know that there was a possibility that I set it for a different location . Tried to ask the lady with red hair what’s the building number and she proceeded to have an attitude thinking I said something about a phone when I clearly have a cell phone in my hand. To me, he gave me that she really did not want to acknowledge me and that was fine. So I said no, not a phone the building number She got an attitude, giving me the building number. I’ve never really dealt with people that are disgusting when I go out to food places . And What I won’t tolerate is disrespect coming from a waffle house worker . If you do not like your job, please do not work in an environment where you have to deal with people. But overall, I’ll still continue to...

Ordered a sirloin that was supposed to be medium to medium-well. Got it over well. Extremely chewy. Eggs were done wrong-even when personally explained to the chef (accidentally used a northern term that he didn't understand and laughed about. Very insulted by the cook and the waiters who laughed and jeered with him), and were so greasy that I had to take indigestion meds immediately after leaning. The cook LOUDLY (often ending up interrupting everyone's conversations) talked about how the grits they had in the pot at 5:45pm was the same from waaaaaaayyyyyy early that morning. He made it very clear to other staff that it had not been changed, remade, added to, etc. Also there was a weird smell that no one could locate. Will never go to this one again. DISGUSTING!!!!!! I would ask for a refund, but it would expire before I ever return. Wish I could...
