Food Lion — Local services in West Columbia

On this very hot day in Lexington County me and two of my friends had a very wonderful time in this Food Lion's Produce department. We happened to be in earshot of Mark who seemed to know his produce very well. He was so pleasant in answering questions on sugar content of some health drinks and for me and my diabetes - a life or death issue - I found out two new fruits that are good for me and quite frankly for anyone. It's great. I don't usually attend this Food Lion because I am so close to my Food Lion on Parklane BUT I did tell the beautiful cashier whose name is Reagen (but the "g" is hard, not soft.) If you want southern charm with exotic aplomb oh you need to come here. Life is good down here OR at least across the river (Congaree.) Man, I'll get her name next time; she had a smile she uses for everyone that was genuine sincerity. With her at the Front and Mark helping us on the floor on a beautiful Tuesday; you know we got it...

DO NOT shop at this Food Lion if you want good customer service! Most of the cashiers are rude and usually never even acknowledge you are there. They are always stocking and the stockers act like you are getting in their way when you are shopping. I’ve shopped here for two years and it has gone down hill gradually. I recently purchased an item and when I got home the cashier left it out of my bag. I went back to the store 15 minutes after leaving to retrieve the item I had already PAID for. After 10 minutes of discussion and examining my receipt they said they looked at the camera and that I had already received the item and that I would have to pay for it again!! The item was never put in my bag. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at this store and they lost a loyal customer over an item that cost $3.99. I would drive 20 miles to another store just so I don’t have to shop at this...

Store is nicely organized, but when I went the lady's bathroom was out of order. My husband went to the mens bathroom with me to guard the door and there was a cone in front of it, as well. I am 8 months pregnant, so having a restroom available is kind of important. The manager (or what seemed like one by his attire) came out when we were about to leave the stockroom where the mens restroom is located. He said he would check it. We walked out and waited in the hall area. He came forward and asked my husband if he needed to use the restroom and he said that it was me that needed to go.
