OYO Hotel Columbia SC West — Hotel in West Columbia

I would give zero stars if I could for the room and hotel itself. Management is a different story and was nice enough to let us stay the night and pay in the morning because we thought we booked it until Thursday morning. That was the only good perk of the hotel. The room was clean-ish when we walked in. However, when we walked in and the TV was just off the wall and barely standing up on the dresser, the wifi barely worked, and there was no microwave, the fridge barely stayed cool, the shower head was missing, a light was hanging down from the wall, and an outlet was stuck out of the wall. We also had a neighbor who would yell randomly at nothing and play music very loudly at 2-3 am. The next day is when I saw all of the issues come out. German roaches were everywhere, my daughter owns an bassinet that is an electronic and we might have to toss that because bugs have followed us from the hotel with our electronics. The last two days I saw bugs in the fridge. It reeked of a musty mold or roach smell. I could not stay in the room during the day due to the bugs. I also woke up with bites that looked like bed bug bites, however I never saw bed bugs in the room itself, so it might have just been mosquito bites. Definitely won't be staying here again. And let's not forget when I tried to take a shower at night, bugs were crawling in and out of the shower. We never got fresh towels from the cleaning lady when we asked. I also told the people at the front that we had bugs everywhere and they acted shocked and said they would send the cleaning lady up, however that never happened. We also saw hookers roaming around the hotel and a lot of guests there are drug addicts. Really disappointing hotel. I don't know how this hotel...

I stayed in this motel for a grand total of 5 minutes. I made the reservation on booking.com, then went to check in, and was told there was only one room left and it was smoking. I needed somewhere to sleep, so I said I'd try it out. The room smelled shockingly bad, though. The floor was very dirty, the bedspread was full of suspicious stains, there was a giant pile of loose tobacco on the night stand, there were zero toiletries or even tp, the bathtub was visibly dirty, and there were cockroaches scurrying around the bathroom...I've lived out of a car and a tent before - so I'm not high maintenance. But, this was just too disgusting, I couldn't go through with it. I informed the front desk I could not stay there and they said they didn't control the refund - that booking.com did. I contacted booking.com and sent them a video I took documenting the issues, and they said they needed to contact the motel for a refund to be issued. I called again awhile later after receiving nothing, and they said OYO had ignored all their calls and emails regarding the matter and that was all they could do apparently. OYO, you owe me $50 buddy. I will never forget. [PS I know you look at the pictures and think, "oh well that doesn't look bad" - I don't know what kind of filters they have on there but that is not what it looks like at all, it looks like somewhere people die daily...

Of all the places I have ever stayed in, I have never seen anything like this, its unorganized, assign room numbers to multiple customers, do not do inventory or inspections of room before assigning people keys.||||1st Offense: We paid for the room, the attendant didn't give me the hotel key, He said he gave the card but then said he will remake a card.||||2nd Offense: When we get to the room put the key in the door. There was someone already in that room! We had gone back to get another key made for another room.||||3rd Offense: We got the room, there are roaches everywhere, no tv, there was garbage behind the bed post. the dressers were dirty, no garbage can in the room, the toilet flush, but debris was in it.||one thing they did good, in this room there was towels, wash cloths, soap, and the heat worked good and quick.||||4th Offense: Someone was issued a key to the room we were staying in. scared the living daylights out of me.||||5th Offense: They charged us for the tv that was missing out the room, It was missing way before we got there, further reviews from my research indicate, there was a broken tv, which they removed and used that to their advantage.||||6th Offense: No security, people running rampant outside all hours of the night.
