This hotel is pretty clean. The employees are very welcoming, friendly and polite. The only issue I have was with someone staying next to me. My friend came to visit around Noon, and he was playing with 1 of my dogs. My pup was playfully barking for about 5 mins, and I ended up getting a call from the front desk, because someone complained. I completely understand but it was Noon!!! I didn't think it would be a problem because it was Noon and she was playing for about 5 mins. Normally I would have already left the hotel if it wasn't because of my friend who I haven't seen in years stopped in for a visit. My dogs didn't disturb anyone the rest of the visit. I wish people would be a little more patient since it was NOT a frequent occurrence and it was Noon. I'm not upset... just a little disappointed. Anyway, I like this hotel and I would stay here again. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. One of my pups loves Bojangles, and it is next to the hotel and can be easily walked to. The room I stayed in has an adjointing door, which might be why it wasn't as sound proof? There is plenty of grassy area for the pups. I don't usually participate in breakfast or social when I stay at any of the Residence Inn. I did one at Virginia Beach. When I checked in, it was social night, and I was surprised to see beer and wine!! The VA Beach location didn't have alcoholic beverages.

Front desk staff was very friendly and kind. The hotel is dirty, not filthy but not clean either. Do not walk barefoot in the rooms and wear flip flops in the shower. We had two rooms due to issues with the 1st room. 1st room, discovered at 11pm as we were getting into bed that there was a large wasp nest in the middle of the curtains in our room, which tells me the cleaning crew doesn’t actually look at everything in the room, the shower had mold in the corners, the couch had dark stains on it, the remote was sticky and didn’t work. The 2nd room, that was a supposed to be an upgrade due to the issues with the wasp nest also had dirty furniture, smelled like weed and was also surface dusty/dirty. It was not a comfortable stay due to cleanliness but we had no other choice given the time of night we had to check in and I wasn’t going to repack for the 3rd time to find another hotel. Room was expensive for a rundown place. We won’t be back. Xposted

First of all, I want to acknowledge the kind staff. They're wonderful… BUT If you're thinking about booking this place because you think it HAS to be nice because the name Marriott is attached, think again. The hotel is outdated, the rooms Are dirty and damaged, one of the elevators doesn't work, the breakfast is DISGUSTING if you get anything other than cereal. Our couch was stained with gooey brown god knows what, the bed was so hard it felt like I was sleeping with a rod under my back. The window tint was peeled off so you could see right in. We were on the second floor so I tried to just block out the visible areas with a trash cans. I was also originally charged over $300 for the room. I can't believe how much they charge for such an awful experience. we spoke to the staff about it and they made it right, but this place needs a lot of work.

I have had to stay here as a result of a plumbing issue and repair at my house. Room is large, roomy and comfortable however, housekeeping is nonexistent. I have been here for 10 days so far and they have yet to clean my room. The first time I requested housekeeping they said no problem and I was unaware the cats had to be locked up so they didn’t come in, that’s fine I get it. The second time I locked my 2 cats in the bathroom for over 10 hours when we left at 0800 and came back that night and they hadn’t cleaned. They said they couldn’t get in the room that their key wouldn’t work then tried to say that they knocked and we didn’t answer. We were gone all day. After that day I asked the night clerk for clean bedding so that we could change it out ourselves since it has become clear they will not. Then the 3rd time locked the cats up at 0800 I went to work they came to the room around 1230 or so and my husband and son were there. He let them in an propped the door open for them and said we will get out of the way while you clean he took my young son into the other room so they could vacuum and clean the bathroom, he came back and they were gone no cleaning just left towels. I called the front desk and they blamed it on my husband. Said he told them only towels and trash bags. He told them yes we need towels and trash bags and I will give you space while you clean. The lady that works the desk during the day is quite rude anyway and was arguing with me over the phone that my husband wouldn’t let them clean cause that is what the housekeeper said when I was telling her he was asking her to clean and she said well that’s not what she said. So I guess my husband is lying and the housekeeper who doesn’t want to do her job is not. If you have someone asking 3 separate days for cleaning why would we not want to have it cleaned??? And now they won’t clean cause he left and left the cats out cause they were crying from being locked up for 5 and a half hours. So I have now gone to my construction area of a house and retrieved my vacuum so I can vacuum up the floor to keep my 17 month old from picking up stuff off the floor and putting it in his mouth and also some cleaning materials for the stove and kitchen cause I’m not gonna live like this. If I could leave I would, I pray my house is finished soon. I asked to speak to manager yesterday early afternoon and was told she will call you when she is available and now it is next day and no call so obviously they don’t care. I see in the reviews that there have been other problems with not getting housekeeping and also roaches which does not surprise me since they don’t clean. So if you care about having a clean environment to live in don’t stay here it’s not gonna happen.

In response to managements response. That is simply not true. My husband told them to clean. He propped the door open for them and told them to clean. He did tell me he was confronted in the lobby by a member of management that wanted to speak with me but no one has made any attempt to do so despite my being told the manager would call me when she wasn’t busy 2 days ago. My husband told me the exact conversation he had with management and it was with a man named Andre and I’ve never met Kelsey so again you do not have your facts straight. And it is not the the pet policy but the lack of simple understanding that when someone asks for housekeeping 3 times that means they request housekeeping. So yes they did finally come yesterday day 10 to clean and thank...

After experiencing a few difficulties with the check-in process and housekeeping, I had originally left a three-star review. Within just 24 hours of doing so, Melanie, the operations manager for the property, contacted me with a very nice apology and a promise to address my feedback with her team. This would have been more than enough to make it right in my mind, but she also offered me a generous allocation of Marriot bonus points as well. I was truly awestruck by this gesture and cannot compliment Melanie enough. She, along with all the other people who work for Ritz-Carlton and Marriott are the main reason I continue to stay loyal to their chains.

Aside from the logistical issues I experienced during my stay, which I'm sure will be corrected in very short order, everything about my visit to this property was excellent otherwise. My room was incredibly clean, very spacious and frankly, quite nice and modern looking. The ambience was very quiet and peaceful, and I must say that I really enjoyed the breakfast as well. The waffle maker is a nice touch, but the vegetable breakfast crumble and andouille sausage were both actually really good as well.

All in all, I think this property really offers incredible value for the price. You get friendly service, sizeable rooms that are very nice and super comfortable, and a good meal included when you wake up. Can't ask for much more than that! I am more than pleased and since I will be making a trip to the area every other week for the coming months, I will most certainly continue to give this property my future business. My hat goes off to Melanie and her team and I will be looking forward to seeing...

New hotel but quality of rooms has changed drastically from earlier Residence Inn properties. Very nice color scheme throughout the hotel but don't be too dazzled by that. Not much sitting space in the rooms, kitchen area much smaller, cable service only allows the volume on the televisions to go from 0 to 3 to 8 to 11 to 16 ect. Anything in between, you are out of lucky. Only one tall square bar type table with two barstool type chairs to consume meals etc., very little counter space. Only other sitting space is one desk chair and one small cheap sectional type sofa that is not very comfortable and for four adults, they all will be sitting almost on top of one another. Some of the housekeepers seem to take shortcuts in cleaning the rooms as the trashcan was EXTREMELY filthy!! We stayed on the fourth floor and one evening I had to literally allow the water in the shower to run for almost 15 minutes before it even got warm. Very poor breakfast choices. Front of hotel does not have convenient ramp area to load and unload baggage using the luggage cart, just the regular elevated curbside with no ease of use of a luggage carts. Closest area to roll carts off of sidewalk is almost halfway down the sidewalk near a handicap parking space. No check in parking spaces near front entrance nor any overhead covering in the event of inclement weather. Poor breakfast choices. Staff was very friendly and...
