Where to begin. We had SUPER high hopes for this CG. The most expensive campground we have ever stay at. We booked this CG 6 months in advance with a "Good Sam" Discount. Several days before arriving, the CG was running a special for June (Spring) and September (Fall) either 20% off or book 3 nights and get the 4th free. I reached out to the CG to see if we could get this new special price ($120 vs $84 a night) since we had yet to check-in. On the phone, they said they'd see what they do could when we arrived. When we arrived, they said that discount was for "new" reservations only and wouldn't extend any sort of "olive branch" discount to us. Unless you are booking for July & August, wait to book this CG, and don't book it months in advance. This way you can take advantage of discounts. When we arrived, there may have been 10 total rigs there. When we left, approx 25-30. June is not busy in this area because Going-To-The-Sun road is closed at Avalanche CG. Not supposed to open until June 27th at the earliest and more likely July.

Pro's:

  1. Location relative to Glacier NP.
  2. Good amount of children for our boys to play with.
  3. Paved roads make easier skating, biking, etc....
  4. Clean bathrooms & showers

Negatives:

  1. Discounts do NOT apply to advanced reservations. June & September are NOT busy. I'd only book July/August early.
  2. Our boys went to buy firewood and we knew it was $8.99 some sort of tax (we thought MT has no tax). Anyways, our boys went with $9.25 to get firewood, and the total was $9.26. Staff had our boys go all the way back to the RV for a single penny! A single penny!!!!
  3. Sites were unkept. Grass was 6" long and there were a good amount of weeds throughout the gravel parking area. The only lots that had the lawn mowed while we were there were the lots closest to the main road through the middle of the park. They mowed those and left the rest.
  4. Outside of a small jungle gym, there are no other amenities for kiddo's.
  5. Mosquito's!!!! Everywhere!!!!

Lastly, we try to be as reasonable as possible when it comes to our reviews. The discount issue really put a thorn in our side from the get-go but we tried to keep an open mind. After staying here for almost a week, our opinion didn't change much. If we are ever up here again, we'll try and stay at the Glacier KOA or an area slightly farther away. It only takes 15 minutes to get to the entrance of the park from Columbia Falls, so there is no need to pay the exorbitant nightly rates to be...

We stayed here for 5 nights in our RV while exploring Glacier NP. I really wanted this place to be great and it has tremendous potential. With a few fixes this could really be a premier destination.

Pros:

Location! You couldn't be any closer to Glacier without being in the park. Also the proximity to West Glacier Village is fantastic. My family and I ended up just riding our bikes to the village and even into the park as often as we drove. The village itself was fantastic as it had shops, restaurants, activities, etc. The kids loved being able to ride over after dinner for ice cream.

RV site space was very good. At many parks you end up so close to the RV next to you that your slide outs are nearly touching. This place had tons of space with a table and fire pit and plenty of green space between sites. There are trees and bushes planted between sites as well that in a few years will provide good separation of sites.

The facilities were all nearly new and up to date. There were several bath houses available. The laundry room was very large and clean with plenty of washers and dryers.

The staff was very friendly.

Cons:

They've got sewer issues. Bad ones. There must have been over 100 RVs at this place and all sites have full hookups. It was hot the first few days we were there. By evening of day 3 the smell of the sewer system was nearly overpowering. You could smell it everywhere in the park - definitely not coming from one site. The staff must get this complaint a lot. They gave us a line about "we're aware of the problem" and "we have a plumber coming tomorrow". It did seem to get better as the temps cooled off but even after a couple days with a high in the low 80s it was still quite noticeable. This place is WAY too expensive to be forced to hide inside your RV with the windows closed.

Restroom cleanliness was also somewhat of a problem. I'm not sure how often they were cleaned so it was hit and miss. Sometimes, they would be very clean, but other times definitely not. Especially during the pandemic, keeping the restrooms and showers clean is an absolute must.

Overall:

Overall, I have a hard time recommending this park. If they manage to resolve their sewer issues and improve their cleaning protocols I would give it 5 stars immediately. Until then, I'd recommend finding another...

We had always dreamed of visiting Glacier Park, and this year we finally made it a reality. We chose to stay at the West Glacier RV Park, and WOW, what an incredible place! Our journey from San Diego was filled with anticipation, and upon arriving, the park exceeded even our highest expectations.

As we entered the charming village, my wife and I both felt an immediate sense of excitement, thinking, "This is going to be great." Turning towards the park, we were absolutely stunned as we drove in. The beauty of the park left us speechless. It was like stepping into a dream.

The park is quaint and inviting, nestled among the trees with clearings that provide a perfect balance of openness while still feeling enveloped by the forest. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. When we parked to check in, we decided to explore the store, and we were not disappointed. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

We were looking forward to spending a few days here, and I can confidently say it was an experience we will cherish forever. We explored the village and took a drive on the famous "Going to the Sun Road," as far as it was accessible. The natural beauty and serene atmosphere of the park and surrounding area were beyond our expectations.

We enjoyed every moment at the park and in the area so much that we're already making plans to return next year. If you're planning a visit to Glacier Park, I highly recommend considering West Glacier RV Park. You will not be...

This was our third attempt to travel over the going to the Sun road! The first year we didn't find a place to stay, the second time, we didn't have a reservation for the road pass that we didn't know we needed, so this third time was the charm. We researched quite a bit both the second time and this time that we were planning to go. We wanted the location very close to the entrance to the park, and this turned out to be about 2 miles away. "Location, location, location" made a big difference. Along with being located so close to the entrance to the park & the road we wanted to travel on, the cabins were located very close to many other amenities, including gas station, gift shop, grocery, etc. Online reservations were easy, we were able to obtain the days we wanted by booking early, checkin process was seamless, and upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find a very clean and well maintained unit. It was much like a tiny house, and everything was laid out so efficiently that all of our living needs were attended to. It was nicely furnished with a fairly large refrigerator, a small fllat top range, a full size dishwasher, microwave, and actually a very nice shower. It also had ceiling fans, along with two room air conditioners which were quite sufficient, and baseboard electric heating which kept us very comfortable. There was ample parking, and the area was very secure, including deadbolt locks etc. We highly recommend these, and would definitely choose these again the next time we visit the Glacier National Park area

One of the best RV parks you can stay in especially if you tow/drive your own hotel sized rig! I have a Keystone Fuzion 429 44’ 5ver and 1 ton Ram3500 dually (think only 9’ shorter than an 18 wheel semi). Easy pull through site with tons of room to spare. Full 50 amp (I think 30 amp service also available), water, sewer hook ups. Wide access roads. Just be careful of the turn into Going to the Sun road and the railroad underpass. 13’6” at the CENTER of the roadway. Our AC units cleared it by 6” It’s close so deflate your airbags/ride height and go slow. Less than a mile from the entrance of West Glacier National Park. Apgar village and campgrounds were close by. Lake McDonald also nearby. Going to the Sun rd was magnificent!!! Best and most memorable vacation especially coming from Southern California. BTW-check the National Park website as the Going to the Sun Rd may require a $2 entry ticket between 6am and 5pm. Otherwise you’ll have to get in before or after hours for the NPS. And bring the Bear Spray if you plan on hiking.
