My husband and I have been loyal customers at this restaurant for over a year now, usually dining here every couple of weeks. The food has always been consistently delicious, and we’ve especially loved the snow crab legs, which are usually full, flavorful, and a highlight of our visits.
Unfortunately, our most recent experience was so disappointing that we will not be returning. We ordered our usual snow crab legs, but this time they were nearly empty and had very little meat inside. When we mentioned this to our server, she kindly offered to have them exchanged if we returned the dish. However, things quickly took a turn.
Instead of receiving a replacement, a woman came out, introduced herself as the manager, and proceeded to point at the crab legs we had returned, her fingers picking at them as she told us this was “normal” and that the crabs were not empty. This was unprofessional and her dismissive tone left us feeling disrespected.
To make matters worse, yet another person came out, also claiming to be the manager. This person was dressed in sweatpants, with hands in his pockets, giggling as he asked if there was an issue. By that point, we were so uncomfortable and disheartened by the lack of professionalism that we decided not to order anything further. We asked for our check and left, barely having eaten.
It’s truly upsetting, because we have loved this place for over a year now and looked forward to our visits. The food has always been excellent, but the way we were treated during this visit was disrespectful and unprofessional. Sadly, we will not...
Read moreWhile at the mall on a Saturday, I thought I would stop in for a late lunch. I was almost run over by a young man rushing out the door, while he was looking the other way. He was apparently a friend of the hostess, not an employee. There were several apparent friends of hers gathered in the lobby being very loud and obstructing the entry. After I got her attention, I was shown to a table. The waitress came and wrote her name on the table (really not necessary during an epidemic) and took my drink order. I then ordered the scallop basket. This $18+ meal consisted of what was probably 3 scallops that had been sliced into 1/3 or 1/4. They were less than a 1/4 inch thick. These were supposed to be sea scallops. This was served with french fries.
The meal was incredibly disappointing and, as others have mentioned, it was very loud. Not only was the music too loud, the employees were very loud.
Then the bill came. She had charged my credit card over $80.00 for my $21 meal. I pointed this out to her and she had "No idea how that happened."
After spending many years in the food service industry, it is clear that this staff has not had sufficient training. It seemed like a social hour for most of them, with customers' coming in a distant second in importance. I cannot see this place making it without some serious changes and significant training. Absolute lack of...
Read moreMr and Mrs Crab is 100% recommended. I recently came here with my sister because she is a regular and profusely raves about it. Our waitress, Mary, was AMAZING. She did a great job helping us with the menu and explaining things, plus she was hilarious and very nice, making a comfortable atmosphere. Speaking of the atmosphere, the decorations were amazing. I love resturaunts that are super themed and have kind of wacky decor throughout, and from the huge sealife mural to the hanging life-size sharks, they delivered. The food was to die for. I had garlic butter mild snow crab boil and it was AMAZING. The corn was cooked perfectly, not overdone, the potatos were actually really good for someone like me who doesn't really like them, and the snow crab was the best snow crab I've ever had. I only got 1/2 lb but it was plenty to eat, about a cluster. The meat was Juicy and easy to crack out, and the seasoning was great. And the bread? I would go just for the bread. It was so good, I can't even describe it. Again, Mary amplified the whole process by checking on us often, making appreciated small talk, and refilling drinks often. This was the best dinner I've had in years. If you're thinking about going to Mr and Mrs crab, GO!! The price...
