Gentleman at front desk was very kind, welcoming and smiled. This is expected, but rarely experienced at any hotel stay I've stayed over this past year. The room was fairly clean, and plenty of space to settle in for a bit (desk/counter, vanity style bathroom sink area, etc). My complaint is more regarding those who bring their dogs (which is %100 why I chose to stay here) & skip picking up after them. This property is kind enough to not only accept our fur-babies as guests, but provide doggie bags & covered trash cans that are emptied quite often (I witnessed at least 3x staff checked recepticles in 1 day). To top it off, the 2nd day of my stay, I attempted to walk my 25 ibs, 11 y.o., handicapped corgi mix. Before every walk, I always stick my head out to assess possible passersby, other dogs, etc. I didn't see anything before taking my dog out, so continued out the door. No sooner than my dog walked beyond where my vehicle was parked did I hear a woman scream at the top of her lungs, "OH NOOOOOOOOO. STOPPP". My dog froze, so before I could see what the ruckus was, I yanked my dog to pull him back towards our room. I try to get in front of him, then see a German Shepard mix, approx 120 ibs easily, running in our direction with no leash, his owner trying to run after him with a skinny broken leash in her hand, still screaming for the dog. She yelled 2x that the dog doesn't bite, how she knew she should've bought a better leash, and kept apologizing. At this point, with no time to scramble for my room key or find cover, I had my dog lifted as high as possible above my head, putting as much space between him & the oncoming dog. I then feel the other dog standing on his 2 back legs, using my shoulders to help boost himself towards my dog. I continue hearing the woman scream, "he doesn't bite. he just wants to play" as her dog grabs my right arm in between his teeth, but doesn't chomp down. He continues to mouthed and catch my arm another 2x until I finally am able to kick him in the stomach. He backed up scared, hears the woman, "he doesn't bite" so I yell, "maybe you should remind him of that because he's attempted to bite at my dog and caught my arm instead." Her dog comes to lunge at us once more so I kicked it in the nose and turned to run. Finally, after that whole ordeal, the woman's son (?) comes without saying a word, and grabs his dog. tells the woman who keeps apologizing, and swearing the dog doesn't bite, "he did though. I saw him trying to bite her dog. he got her arm instead." This wasn't Motel 6's fault, so I mentioned nothing to them. I include this in my review to hopefully remind fellow fur-baby parents to remain vigilant, responsible and aware of the bullet points we pray others do when taking our predictable (we KNOW our pets behavior in public, habits and what to expect as long as we remain honest with ourselves) fur-babies with us. I was well within my right to call animal control/the police on the woman for not taking proper measures to maintain %100 control of her untamed dog, but decided it best to appreciate no real harm happened. My dog was skiddish for a few days, but otherwise fine. I gave the woman a spare heavy duty leash I had in back of my SUV, and thanked her for screaming to warn us which enabled my dog to be taken out of direct harm. Let's not be lazy where our pets are concerned, and assure we don't lose the opportunity to bring them with us for overnight stays...
Read moreI booked a room through Expedia for 7 nights. I paid cash in advance at check in. They couldnt even provide face towles or wash clothes. I called customer service because it was a request when i made the reservation and it was unreasonable that i couldnt get more than one of each at a time. Customer service told me the motel will provide them shortly but after a whilebi went to maid service who laughed at me and said they told me already one at a time. So my first night didnt go well. The second day i went fishing with my 17 year old son i was visiting we returned to the room at 8.10pm and i discovered my key didnt work so i went to the office and the clerk told me they wouldnt let me in the room because my son wasnt registered. I said he wasnt a guest just helping me unload my fishing gear. They said he couldnt go back into the parking lot to help me. I am a 60 year old female disabled veteran. I couldnt unload by myself so i told my son that yes he could go back and unload the car. The clerk called security to prevente him. The clerk refused to allow me access to my room. We argued. Then she told me that they charge $8.00 additional dollars to allow my son in the room. I refused to pay it and said i would be checking out in the morning. Thats when the clerk told me no i wouldnt i didnt have a room anymore and i needed to leave. We argued another 20 minutes because i had to go to my room and pack my belongings i couldnt just leave it. She relented after 20minutes and had security escort me to my room and was given 10 minutes to get my stuff and be off the property. I packed while security stood over me. On the way out i stopped by the office to obtain a refund of my unused nights i paid for and thats when the clerk told me since i violated their policy of having visitors after 8pm and refused to pay the $8 fee i wouldnt be getting any refund at all. I demanded she show me that policy in writing that they had or i agreed to stating that. She handed me a plack off the desk that said visitors after 8pm must stop at the office and show valid id. But my argument was laughed at. I was forced to spend my night in my car driving around looking for a safe place to park for the night. The next day before i went home because i had no money for alternate lodging for the rest of my vacation i stopped by to thak to the manager. He wasnt avalible but the clerk who had checked me in was. I asked her about my refund and told her what went on the previous night. She checked her computer which said that i had just checked out at 11am that morning and was given a refund. Well she was on duty and knew that was not so so she called her boss who told her i was a "DNR" do not rent. He told her i wasnt getting any refund and i had already been explained to why i wouldnt get one. I asked if i wasnt getting a refund why in the computer did it state i recived one when i checked out that morning. That clerk was so courteous she told me to come back when her boss was there and talk to him face to face. But since i didnt have a room and no money to get another one i wouldnt be around i had to go home. I still havent recived a refund and am told im not getting one. Would you take the chance of staying here. I wonder just how many other people they invent excuses and put them out and keep their money. May be if i involved the News if they could find out what scam this...
Read moreFirst off they had no handicapped rooms. That's okay because they said they had a bathtub. Well the bathroom is probably 6x6. big black hair in the bathtub (2), no plug to plug the water to take a bath. My handicapped person could not even take a bath. We were there for two nights. Another issue with the bathroom, it does not necessarily have to do with handicapped accessibility. I think all hotels should have a grab bar in the shower or even by the toilet. People do get older and at times need assistance. I even find myself grabbing on to the bar in my shower when I'm washing my feet for instance and lose my balance. Having the hand bar has saved me more than once. Then if you had an obese person not sure that they would actually fit to well in the bathroom. Speaking of my ex morbidly obese he would have to probably stand in the bathtub to close the bathroom door. sit on the toilet that's next to the bathroom door. Let's say he had a heart attack or fell off the toilet no one would be able to get to him, or my handicap friend because they would fall right in front of the door. I found out that my friend with ALS stayed there several months before and was also told they had not a handicapped room available. This is an older motel 6 I'm assuming in a shady area of town at one time and these were probably used for an hour here and there on the rooms. Had a couple ants crawl on me while I was in bed. They do not supply a coffee pot, hair dryer. Their towels are as soft as a brown grocery bag. Must be the cheapest of cheap. The next day I asked if a handicap room became available, one did not. Although there was no handicap parking space that was occupied. Decided on motel 6 because the pool looked decent size and there was a contraption that appeared to lower a handicap person into the water. Well my friend likes the water. Guess what, their pool is out of order. After talking with my friend with ALS, the pool wasn't in operation when they stayed there either. I don't know what's up with this place but I did not get anywhere with them as far as discounted or moved room. If you stay more than one night you get a parking tag to put on your window. After checking cars there were maybe two that were staying two nights or more all the rest were one night stands I guess. there was not another room to move us to. My take on motel 6 in West Sacramento is, don't expect a handicap room, don't expect to go swimming, don't expect much of anything! Maybe after their renovation if that's what's going on give it a couple years they...
