FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY! DO NOT STAY IN THE TOWER ROOMS!! I came to Wendover for work a few weeks ago and decided to stay at the Nugget since it was close to where I needed to be and had a lot of amenities nearby. I paid around $300 a night since Bonneville Speed Week was going on and there was a greater demand for rooms. You’d think that at such a price you’d be getting a really nice room or it would at least be a nice hotel right? WRONG! I walked to the elevator and got on and hit the number 4 to go up to my floor. Nothing happened so I hit it again, nothing again. The doors shut and the elevator started to move, “oh good the number 4 light is just burnt out” it happens right? Nothing to be concerned about I thought to myself. Boy I wish I could say that’s where the problems ended. I got out on my floor and was greeted by loud music from one of the other guests’ room. Their door was open and they were in the doorway making out, love was in the air so I quickly walked by to give them the privacy they didn’t seem to really want. On my way down the hall I took notice of an odor that could best be described as burnt food, mold, and cigarettes, in fact there were a few cigarette butts on the center molding on the walls (they actually remained there for the 5 days I stayed too) I finally made it to my room and instantly noticed there wasn’t a refrigerator so I decided to call the front desk and see if I could get one sent to my room. I picked up the phone and hit 0 to call them, I put the phone up to my ear and didnt hear a thing. I then had to walk all the way back to the elevator and then back to the front desk. The refrigerator arrived shortly after I got back to my room and once the staff member left I was ready to shower. I turned on the water in the shower and it was the lowest amount of water pressure that I have ever encountered in a shower. The handle for the water control spun forever both ways, so I couldn’t tell where the hottest setting was was or where the coldest setting was. It didn’t really matter through the water wouldn’t get over anything hot wet than freezing cold. I decided to call the front desk from my cell phone. I had to actually wait a bit for maintenance to come up (not a crazy amount, but enough to be frustrated since I was ready for a shower. They messed around with it for a bit and came out of my bathroom about 10 minutes later to tell me that they got the water temp fixed and that “it gets pretty hot now” I asked about the pressure and they said “it’s a little better” I wasn’t convinced so I asked them to wait while I checked it out. It was actually the exact same amount of water pressure as it was before they got there and when I expressed this to them they said “man, it’s the Nugget. That’s how it is here” I was a pretty upset that my $300 a night hotel was like this, and wanted to get a different room or try a different hotel, but all my stuff was unpacked, it was late, and I was exhausted. So I decided to take care of the issue in the morning. The next day came and I was moved to a different room once I told the front desk about my issue with the room. My next room had good water pressure and the handle on the shower had a start point and an end point so I could find the right water temp. Everything seemed like it was going good until I was sitting on my bed scrolling on my phone and I heard a cough that sounded like it was in the same room as me.. I was all by myself and I knew for a fact that I hadn’t coughed. I brushed it off maybe I’m hearing things I thought. I was in fact not hearing things, the cough happened again and I looked at the wall where it seemed to come from and notice that there was a gap (about half an inch) where I could see light from the room next door. My neighbor seemed like he was on his deathbed after having too many cigarettes and would randomly have cough attacks at night and wake me up because I could hear them as if he were right next to me. The tower rooms are horrible, even my 3rd room was crumby. Don’t stay in them.

THERE WAS FECES IN THE BED?! AND WILD SCORPIONS?? Labor Day weekend was SUPPOSED to be our annual family gathering where we go gamble in wendover, my family has gone for the past 70 YEARS and stayed at the golden nugget EVERY time but this year was a horrendous experience, now every regular knows this is the most “ghetto” hotel in the town with some “charms” usually but something needs to be said about this time.

It all started when we arrived at 230pm.. check in is at 4pm, we asked the front desk at 330pm if we could set our things down and get our rooms situated right at 4pm so they could have time to prep our rooms we RESERVED 1 month prior using their 3rd party Expedia, my grandma is 76 years old and she needed a place to rest and they ended up taking an additional 2 hours and 30 minutes to get our rooms for us.. 630pm.. which they were then supposed to make 50% off according to their GENERAL MANAGERS “Ellie” and “Doug” (were still trying to get this discount by the way because they failed to notate it correctly in their system)

We FINALLY get our rooms and my grandmas room as we walk in it instantly reeks of marijuana and a strange battery smell and something else worse.. they didn’t even try to clean it..

We pull the sheets back and there’s what we assume at first is make up stains from whoever was there last but NO it smells exactly like feces.. we then go to the front desk and the employees have no idea what to do.. there’s no other rooms apparently and their “managers” are no where to be found..

So We kept the rooms.. mind you it’s 8pm by this point.. luckily our 30 other relatives who go EVERY YEAR for Labor Day had extra space in their other rooms for us to rest.. all pool side rooms. We usually get a whole floor..

It’s a bad experience already and we’re all trying to be positive about it and to our surprise as we’re walking out of the rooms there’s SCORPIONS loose in the hallway, I only got a picture of one but there were MULTIPLE.. for those of you that don’t know they ARE poisonous!

After this experience I really hope they see this and make the necessary changes to FIX their dying business. there’s water damage in all the ceilings the food is less than desirable there’s feces and scorpions in the rooms and hallways the elevators do NOT work which is not elderly friendly at all the pool gives you rashes after swimming in it I could go on and I could share my story and additional clips on my Instagram account @ominousyL_mycinema with 128,000 followers for content but I think this might be enough.

I don’t want to deter customers from going there cause that place has been our annual family vacation for my whole life.

We’ve tried to support it all these years but after this time I don’t know.. I really hope it changes for the better. This made me sick and a little bit...

Lotta parking. Handicap parking near the front door. Outside as Ultra nice and clean. The inside entrance was not clean and needed attention badly. My first time in the casino I was told to obtain a player's card but there was no one at the desk I had to find someone and they had to find someone to man the desk it takes like about just shot 10 minutes before someone shows up at the desk to give you a player's card. I had to return to the players card area and again wait about 10 minutes as they do not keep this position manned. In my opinion this station should be manned 24/7. It leaves a bad first impression. The second bad impression was that the first machine that I really wanted to play it would not accept the card something wrong with the reader and then I went to another game and that reader didn't work and I played multiple games during my day there and multiple games will not accept the card because the reader is broken. There are huge billboards along the interstate that claim that the Golden Nugget or the Nugget will give you $100 play and I didn't get that. Maybe you had to have played a certain amount of money. I played $200 so maybe that didn't qualify. That players card and the use of the players card that's a very bad impression to leave with the first time Casino Player. The choice of games are many and they are all a lot of fun I really enjoyed playing the games and later I went to the cafe inside and the food was excellent and the service was excellent and it turned out actually to be the highlight of my Casino experience. I've always been told that casinos have plenty of food and the food is cheap well this place has plenty of food but it's not cheap I don't know where they get that idea. Don't get me wrong the meal was delicious it just wasn't cheap like I was told it was. I did not use the hotel side of the casino I was there just for the day. I will comment on the bathrooms they were ultra clean and very nice. I would highly recommend this place if they would just have somebody at the Players card desk and you don't have to hunt for somebody to find somebody to put somebody behind the desk. I wanted to play a specific machine with the players card but the players card won't work on those machines because the readers are broke and I experienced too many machines with broke card readers and this left me with a bad impression. Fix these items mentioned and I truly believe you would have a great experience. I like giving Ultra positive reviews but I just can't do it this time. I'm not going to give up on the Nugget I'm going to go back maybe on a weekend night when there's a lot of traffic in the casino maybe it's those times that they have somebody at the player card desk and I hope you can use the players card at all of the machines and all of the card readers on all...
