This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. To start, the receptionist was quite rude and made his disdain for my online reservation very apparent. The OYO website and app where I made my reservation said I would be able to use a credit or debit card for the $100 security deposit, but the staff insisted that I had to pay a $10 cash deposit, and would not honor my prepaid reservation unless I went to an ATM and got him a cash deposit. In the room, only two of the four lamps had working bulbs. The TV remote was not programmed correctly, and would not turn the TV on/off or change the volume. The shower needed significant cosmetic repair, and the handle was broken so the direction for hot and cold water was a complete guessing game. The hot water only lasted a couple of minutes and then I did not have hot water again for the entire stay, either in the shower or sink, and the shower would not shut back off so the water dripped annoyingly all night. When I called the front desk, it appeared as though a child answered the phone; I asked for the wifi password, and the person on the phone had to ask someone nearby (presumably an adult) what the correct code was. There was construction being done on a nearby room with excessively loud power tools that did not start until about 8 pm and continued late into the night that disrupted my sleep. The door seemed to be very insecure and had light coming through the side edge. The cleaning service barged into the room without warning, before checkout, and was able to open the door enough to completely disrespect my privacy even with all the locks locked. As I checked out, part of my security deposit was not returned because of a surprise charge I was not notified of. Neither of the two receptionists I encountered were wearing any kind of mask, even with signs stating that both staff and customers were...
Read moreSkip this. Whatever you do, skip this place. The location looks more like an industrial junkyard than anything else, there doesn't appear to be any security surveillance anywhere on the property, and there are people walking around appearing drunk and/or high looking for cars to break in to.
If you don't care about any of that, hotel management doesn't seem to care about the reservations you make in advance to your visit (hopefully without first having realized how bad a neighborhood this is). I put in reservations weeks ago with this place for a several-day stay in the Falls; when I arrived to check-in, I was told that the rooms aren't ready yet and that I'll have to return in an hour. When I returned an hour later, I was told the same thing and told to return in another two hours. When I returned yet again, I was told that I have no reservation and that I will have to pay hundreds of dollars more than what was originally quoted on my reservation (the printed out copy of which was in my hands and clearly visible to the manager who was denying its existence). I ended up having to get a hotel room elsewhere. The only positive part of this whole experience is that at least I didn't allow OYO to bully me into paying for my reservations in advance.
I will never return to this establishment, nor any other OYO if I can help it. You should avoid this place too, and, if you're determined to come to this place anyways, please, please, PLEASE do NOT pay for your reservation in advance; if you do, you might as well have just burnt the money...
Read moreOne of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. After paying my $25 deposit, that had to be in cash, we went to the door of our room and our entry card didn't work. Got the lady at the front desk (very pleasant) to help us. Her master key also didn't work. We were given a room on the opposite side of the hotel, so loaded up the car and went around. As we drove around, there was a bit of a suspicious man sitting outside of his car in a chair, and several minutes later a woman came from the back side of the dumpster. Not sure what she was up to. We had to lean into the door to get it to open. The loud scraping noise of the door I'm sure wasn't pleasant for the others staying there. Once in the room, the tv was still on, and the room wreaked of smoke and and aromatic effort to cover up the smoke. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The bathtub, as you can see in the attached picture, was extremely dirty, and all that was provided was one bottle of hand cream, no soap or shampoo. THere were stains one the carpet including a significant bleach stain. I'm assuming housekeeping hadn't been to the room after the last customer, but the bathtub hadn't been cleaned in a LONG time. After several minutes in the room I was starting to get a soar throat from the air quality in the room. We had to leave and get another room. Fortunately one was available. I'm glad I was able to get a clean with clean air as I was riding in the Hotter 'N Hell 100 early the...
