We’ve stayed at this Hampton before and probably will again. It’s near family. On arrival the place (parking lot) was empty. It’s 32 degrees out, 6 pm on a. Wednesday night. Didn’t think anything about. Young lady that checked us in was polite and nice. It goes down continuously after that. The 3rd floor room was to have King, handicap shower. It wasn’t even clean. Double beds not made, dirty linen on the floor. Okay, down to front desk. Poor girl was surprised and very apologetic, gave us another room immediately on first floor, king bed, handicap shower. Beautifully decorated, however no handicap bar by the commode. The room was cool, so my husband turned the heat on. We unpacked and went to dinner. When we returned the room was cold and after several tries, I called the front desk. She was going to give us another room immediately, but we were tired and my husband fooled around with the dials again and got it sort of working. We decided they’re quirky, blows cool, than hot. It tended to kick off a few times. So repeat quirky dials. The TV wasn’t working, so poor girl had to come down and program channels. Not many channels worked, she said manager would be in tomorrow and take care of it. TVs having trouble since recent renovations. Today, breakfast looked like plastic eggs from the Barbie movie, sausage ok, the rest typical for this hotel venue. Coffee was good, several bottles of free water and we were good to go. Ate breakfast at Waffle House, visited his mother, returned to do a workout. Why can't hotels have equipment that works? Both treadmills had signs on them that they were out of order. The strap on one of the bikes ripped. I couldn’t use elliptical or bikes because of old lady knees. Walked around the empty parking lot for 20 minutes. It’s freezing. Off to the pool to workout. I workout in my pool daily, granted that is north Florida. I can do chilly air a little if pool is heated. Pool was about 84 degrees, maybe warmer but that was taken down a notch with cooler room air. Mind you it is 32 degrees outside and this is not Florida. The sides of the pool needed a good scrubbing too and some of the chairs looked questionable. There were towels and the water clear, with lots of chlorine. The hot tub was taped off and not working. I stayed in the water walking back and forth, until my nose was cold as a cat. No hot tub to warm up in. The staff have been very nice. I asked for an extra chair, so I could sit and look at my computer, my husband occupied the one supplied. It’s a very nice room/suite with a couch. So we definitely got upgraded. I wish management would understand the importance of keeping exercise equipment, TVCable and heat working efficiently. We’re out of our routine when traveling and these things they advertise they have should be operational year round. Especially if weather stinks and you’re stranded inside. We’ll be back again and hope things are improved. The staff make it worth the...
Read moreI need to provide some context for this review I am leaving. On the 20th of October our house caught on fire. It wasn't a total loss but we were displaced and our insurance company got us two rooms in this hotel. So we have 4 adults and 4 dogs in a pet friendly hotel. A couple days into our stay an employee got into it with one of my guest threatening to beat his ass. A day or so later we find out the hotel is not honoring our stay and we need another place to stay. I go down to find out why this happening and it's supposedly because of our dogs. We have three labs and an Australian shepherd and one of the labs is a senior dog. Well this hotel put us on the third floor where we have to take our dogs all the way down the hallway to turn to go down another hallway to get on elevators our dogs have never been on cause they are farm dogs and never have traveled. so their anxiety is high and they are having accidents. I talk to the general manager and find out he called our insurance company instead of us when there was an issue. The thing that gets me upset the most is they didn't even try to talk to us they went directly to our insurance company. They didn't offer a first floor room for my parents with mobility issues and four large dogs. They went directly to we cant honor your reservation anymore and were sorry. We literally have no place to go and none of our things and hotel management didn't have the decency to try and find a solution and then wanted to lie saying there was no customers with pets on our floor when I saw one a night before and that the employee who threatened my guest had nothing to do with the complaints about or dogs. I did make a formal complaint against this employee and I plan on escalating this situation up to customer service. Rooms were nice and I found the breakfast brought back memories from being in the field when I was in the Army eating breakfast. But if you have pets and older parents and your house caught on fire I would not recommend staying in this so called pet friendly hotel. Oh. I almost forgot. The jacuzzi doesn't work neither does the laundry and there's construction so you will hear work being done...
Read moreUpdated to include another star. The assistant General manager did reach out to me to apologize and did what she could to make it right for us spending the extra money for the connecting rooms and lack of communication about them.
I kept gping back and forth berween 2 and 3 starts. I booked this hotel through the website specifically to guarantee our family had connecting rooms. It was also the reason I picked this hotel specifically instead of others in the area that I was familiar with and that were cheaper on 3rd party websites. I even called a week prior to make sure our rooms would be connected and was told they were. Apparently someone was supposed to call me that morning but didn't. I found out when we checked in at 8:30pm. The location was good for what we were in town for and the area was safe and quiet. The pool was cold but not unbearable, kids were still happy. Our bathrooms could have been cleaner but they were okay. The main issue was the shower in 1 of the rooms. The temperature of the water kept changing from boiling to freezing. At first I thought I did something wrong but my husband had the same issue. And the toliet also didn't flush right. We kept having to hold down the handle multiple times. Breakfast was not good at all the first 2 mornings it was okay the last one. The ham tasted like misery and the egg and cheese omlets were just gross. Sausage patties were solid on the 3 day and the eggs were okay when they offered them scrambled. They do have waffles tho, Those came in clutch. All in all it was fine. Kids were happy and that was who this trip was for. I wouldn't book here again and I'm not sure I would even bother with a Hilton brand and pay more to book directly through...
