Me and friends have lived in this Campground for 3 years the people that used to own the campground sold out the people that bought it hired a management company to run it the management company ran the campground for a little while and then they got fired by the people that own the campground so the people that own this Campground hired a new management company named Bluewater so we now have a lady and her husband that's on site management of the campground and talking to them they are nice to talk to but I don't think they know what they are doing since they have run the campground the main office roof is leaking really bad it's not really organized no more the main counter had paperwork all over it you couldn't even see the counter they had towels laying down to catch all the water leaking and the AC is messed up in the office now so they put a little Winky Dink AC unit in the front window since they have took over they have not been really taken care of the mowing some spots in the campground look like a Hayfield now I got my electric bill which was close to $400 I went up to the office and talk to the man and told him is no way my elected bill could be $400 he went and looked at it and said it was nothing wrong with my meter one guy that lives in this Campground got a bill for $900 other people has complained to them about the electric bill being so high but yet they have not hired nobody to come and look at the meters and see what the problem is anyway yesterday I get a knock on the door by the man that runs the campground and he hands my friend a letter for me the letter was stating that I was in violation of the rules it stated that I had somebody living in my building the person would have to stay in my RV or they would be getting kicked out you can imagine I was shocked because I did not have nobody living in my building so right after I got the letter I went up to the office and talk to his wife when I asked her about it she said they had a several people complained that I had somebody living in the building she said they said my daddy was living in the building I looked at the woman I said I'm sure my dad would be shocked considering he lives in Virginia anyway after I got done explaining to the woman I don't have nobody living in the building but we do use it she said anyway thank you for clearing everything up anyway I asked the woman could I have a copy of the new rules in the campground she said no I couldn't because they have not finished up making up the rules I said okay then anyway I said can I have the phone number to the Blue Water Management company that manages the campground so I can make a complaint she tells me she's not for sure how to contact them I found that interesting considering they work for Blue Water apparently they don't know how to contact their boss the other day I was talking to the guy that also runs the campground and he was telling me people cannot have company up here no more unless we ask for permission he was also telling me people that live in the campground we'll have to bring that car titles or registration to the office so they can make copies of it or they will be Towing people's off I have never heard of no company doing that they do not need a title or registration all they need is your tag number and make and model of your vehicle any way to Campground is loud because it sits right beside a truck stop the campground has a lot of cats running around in it jumping up on people's vehicles and scratching them he people running the campground has did nothing about that problem a tip I would give somebody before they stay at the campground go pull up police reports from the campground this Campground has a lot of problems but I'm not going to go into them all I normally don't like giving reviews but in this case as bad as this Campground is I...
Read moreWildwood RV Village is a fantastic park with few downsides and should be considered by anyone needing a place to spend a night or two as they travel up/down I-75.
Access to the campground is from highway 44 and is generally easy. The entrance was marked by a medium sized sign at ground level. When approaching from the west, the highway’s center turn lane makes it easy to wait for a break in the traffic. Over the month I was there I found the traffic to range from medium to heavy.
The campground office is buried in the middle of the park, but it is easy to spot as you come up on it. There are two dedicated lanes to park your rig for check-in. After check-in you will find the campgrounds roads generally pleasant. They are paved and plenty wide. While some corners feel a bit constricted, I had no issues navigating my 40-foot class A with dinghy. Spaces are of decent size and are generally quite level.
The campground staff is fantastic in every way. I had several interactions with them and all of them were positive. A fair number of people people in the campground appeared to be longer term, but a good number of them might have just been there for the winter. While I didn’t have any extended interactions with these folks the interactions I did have were nice.
The campground is quiet for the most part. There are occasional outbreaks of barking form tiny, hyperaggressive, and overly territorial domestic canines. There were no parties during my stay and even when folks were siting outside to watch a football game the volume was kept low. There is a constant white-noise drone from the traffic on I-75, and the occasional jake-break rumble from a truck taking an exit. It isn’t bad but it’s there. The only source of noise that may be of issue is the parking area of the Pilot next door. The campground is directly adjacent to the Pilot’s parking area and there were some nights when I could clearly hear a refer or APU chugging away despite being on the side of the park opposite the truck parking.
For those of us who have diesel rigs the proximity to two travel centers is very much a blessing. Pilot and TA are both represented. Gas rigs… well, I don’t know how y’all fuel but I wish you well.
While the campground is sort of lost in a sea of fast food you will find proper dining and shopping opportunities not far away. Wildwood has both a Publix and Winn-Dixie and a skosh north is a Walmart Supercenter.
The only real issue I would mention is the onsite laundry. It is extremely clean, well maintained, but terribly small considering the number of people in the campground. You might not have an issue finding a free machine during the day but if you put off doing the wash until the evening finding an available washer or dryer could become...
Read moreWe booked this place based on the website. We were disappointed upon arrival. The pros of the place were the office staff. The ladies in the office were pleasant and always nice. Trash pick up at your site was another bonus. Cons: during our one month stay, the police were in the park daily. One day, there were multiple police cars surrounding the bathhouse. Another day, we saw the police handcuffing a man and hauling him out. Another day, the ambulance and fire truck showed up across the road from us and took a woman out, a few days later we saw the bruised up woman walking by, a few days after that, the police were at her site and waiting for the man to leave and she packed and left. It was constant, I could go on, but I think you can get the idea. The kids were running the park all day. Apparently, schooling is optional. I understand online schooling, however, there is one set of children that start running the streets at 7:30 in the morning and don’t stop till 10:30 at night. After many conversations, no dad in the picture, and Mom was at work all day. This boy under 12 was in charge of his younger sister all day. They weren’t being home schooled or doing online schooling. They would come to the pool and ask guests to watch them so they could swim. Some would do that because they felt sympathy for the kids being left alone daily to fend for themselves. No one seemed to mind that they were running free all day unattended. If the guests of the park figured this out quickly, I am shocked no one else did. The number of people that just live here was astounding, loud cars leaving at 4:30 in the morning for work, loud vehicles running, car doors slamming…not very restful. Upon talking to other guests, we discovered we were not the only ones that felt this way. Many couldn’t wait to leave. It’s a shame as this could be a nice park if the residents that have been living there for what appears to be years were made to actually clean up their sites and children were actually in school. The laundry facilities are not adequate for the number of full time residents that are making this campground their primary residence. 6 washers, 6 dryers, many of which not working at any given time with that many people living there with children….not even close to enough. This park would be fine for a quick stop for a couple nights…but I wouldn’t plan to stay for any...
