I caution you - DO NOT CRITICIZE THEIR HOUSEKEEPING!! (or anything else!) You may be treated in the same obnoxious way we were treated!! My wife and I stayed in the "Master Suite" at Thee Hubbell House on October 27& 28, 2018. I have been a repeat customer on the last weekend of October for several years. We will NEVER stay there again!! We criticized the dirty throw rug at the base of the bathroom stool by leaving a note when we left.. He texted a very long message telling us how he cleaned the room, and that we were not welcome to return! It was 396 words! He could have been a courteous host and just said sorry, I'll take care of it. HERE'S THE SITUATION: The throw rug at the base of the toilet stool was obviously dirty and soiled. Upon departing, we placed the soiled rug on the bathroom counter with a note which basically said: 'This rug is dirty - it needs to be laundered or if permanently stained, replaced.' (It actually looked like excrement ~) This was the ONLY criticism we made!! (we did not list the MANY other housekeeping issues we observed) The owner, Tim Carmichael responded with a very lengthy text message to me, saying how he personally had 'scrubbed' the bathroom and used carpet cleaner on all the bathroom rugs. He continued with much more explanations of how well he cleaned ~ And continuing, he said: " . . . (if) you want to come to the antique car rally, please find someplace else to stay. You are not welcome back at Thee Hubbell House". He said our note was "...a persnickety little note after being here two days."' He also said " . . .people that are Hubbellhouse family . . . do not handle 'issues' the way you have chosen." We were quite shocked with his text, especially after paying $406.80 for only a 2 night stay! (Their web site posts $94 per night) He even went so far to say: " I will be sure to talk to the other businesses in town offering overnight accommodations and be sure they...

The rooms are very similar to my grandparents, and that's part of the charm. You're staying in a classic, older home. That's very different from big city hotels, and in many...
