Taco Dive — Restaurant in Winnsboro

I had the chicken achiote and beef fajita taco. Both made with fresh ingredients, portion size was good. I preferred the chicken achiote; it had nice spice, a bit of crema sauce, and the chicken was moist and flavorful. The beef fajita was fine, but a little fatty for my taste. Still, fresh chopped jalapeno, onions, peppers, and a bit of cilantro. They lightly fried the corn Tortillas which helped them hold the taco together a little better. I also tried the pickle margarita. Yes, it tasted like dill pickles, but it wasn't overwhelming. Nice and fresh, salty.

Hubby had the brisket burrito, which was half the size of his head! It had a crema sauce and a red sauce drizzled on top. So, it was "wet", but not mushy or soupy. He ate the whole thing, so I presume it was delicious!

He also tried the churros with ice cream. I would recommend that they "pretty them up" a bit by dishing out the ice cream (rather than leaving it in the single serve cup), maybe a spritz of whipped cream, sprinkle of almonds, and a cherry on top. The churros were freshly fried, and still warm.

We'll go back, and try some more of their...

Wait staff was attentive. Pork Nachos were good. Quesadilla were soggy and stacked on top of each other.

Very Expensive, especially if you take into consideration everything but our plastic drink glasses were served in disposable containers!

Still waiting for a return call for being charged for a margarita that I returned because it had a funny taste to it. It was replaced for a blackberry Mojato that was yummy.

It think the best thing about the place other than the attentive wait staff was the singer that played on Friday Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately though we had to leave but we did hear the singer while we were saying bye to our family!

Think I'll stick with La Conchita if I want Mexican in Winnsboro... never disappoints & way...

Boyfriend and I tried this before he had to go out of town on business. He ordered a taco and I ordered nachos. We were disappointed with the food that we ate and the price we paid.... The taco was very small for $5 and there wasn't much meat. My nachos tasted like they came from a concession stand or convenience store. We weren't impressed at all. Definitely won't be back until the food improves. It would have been nice if they would've offered chips and salsa at least. I kind of think maybe they're only serving food because their main attribute is the adult beverages.
