This hotel is one of the worst hotels I've ever been to. If it wasn't for the kiddie pool area, I would've gave them no stars. There was no hot breakfast, and if you wanted a biscuit or croissant sandwich, you had to take it out of its packaging and microwave it yourself. The hard boiled egg was inedible. The toaster did not work, so my bread wasn't even toasted. Who runs this hotel? Anyways, we ordered Mcd's breakfast after trying out their sad one. At least have a wafflemaker. The ceiling where my husband and I slept had little holes. One night before we slept, my husband had to kill a bug crawling up on the ceiling near the holes. Not sure if it came from those holes. Picture provided. My family reserved 8 rooms for a wedding. Most of us complained about how hot it was in our rooms. My brother was able to show me that if you kept it on Fan Cool (I believe) it would stay cooler longer. That helped alot. My sister's room, on the otherhand, was HOT even with the Fan Cool. They had maintenance come fix it, but it was still hot. Thankfully we were grouped on the same floor so they are able to leave their door ajar, and the last night, without any cool air blowing, they opened their window so air could flow through the room. This is appalling, especially if we're paying over $200 per room a night. Those who couldn't take the humid night air came and slept in one of our rooms on the pull-out couch. If my brother did not place a hold on these rooms for us for his wedding, I would not have rented from here. I think I'll stick to Hilton from now on.

Stopped in after a long trip. Not only were we told the hotel was sold out,l. I was initially given a room that directly overlooked scaffolding. Then, when I went to the front desk for a room change, I paid $10.00 more for a room directly next to the scaffolding. Only to be woken up at 7:00 a.m. but the construction. I notified the front desk of this situation and was met with only an apology and response. " they should have been done with that, I will talk to them!" If possible, I would give "0" stars.

We were beyond satisfied with Karen & her staff. They provided us with an early check in as well as a nice relaxing weekend get away. Our girls loved their pool area, nothing huge but very accommodating to all ages. All the amenities you would need are either on site or within a 5 minute drive. Target, Walmart, restaurants within a stones throw. Our girls left saying, "We love Winona!" Thanks for the stay Karen!

We checked in Monday afternoon with some minor hassle and checked out Friday morning. We didn't arrive until 3:30 - 3:45 pm, well past the 3 pm check in time and told our room wasn't ready and would be at least 40 minutes before ready. Claimed a busy weekend from sport tournament and short housekeepers. Despite that, not quite sure why a known reservation wasn't cleaned first before empty rooms. Had 2 anxious kids in the car. Virtually no cars in parking lot when we arrived and did not see many cars later at night - so poor planning to not have reservation rooms ready by check in time. Didn't take 40 minutes, but still surprised to not be ready.

Pros of facility - very quiet, beds comfortable, room and hall facility seemed in decent shape and not overworn, kids enjoyed kids pool, onsite restaurant had good food.

Cons - website did not have good COVID updates. Indicates full hot breakfast buffet included. I did not expect fresh, hot food knowing COVID restrictions would prevent that. But we were very frustrated to find nothing but high sugar, high calorie all processed muffins, cereal bars, honey buns, juice, milk, coffee, cereal and hard boiled eggs. Don't understand why there was no yogurt, no fruit or packaged slices of bread or english muffins and condiments for these. Find it hard to believe these options couldn't have been offered even with COVID restrictions/compliance.

Also no one specific was restocking this area or making coffee, had to keep finding someone when this ran out. And finally by Friday, when there have been more people there overnight then we had seen all week, come for breakfast Friday morning and there is no milk for our kids. How do you not plan ahead for this?

Next mislead of webpage is saying there is daily housekeeping. Not so. On check in there is a sign taped to the counter that indicates there will not be daily cleaning for multi night stays, if you need something done - they will provide clean linens for you to do it yourself. Leave garbage in hall and they will pick it up - they didn't. I put a bag in the hall around 7 am, at 3 pm it was still sitting there. I don't know what was causing the dust problem but it was terrible. Wiped off a table in our room in the morning, by evening there was a layer of dust on it. By the end of the week the room was so covered by dust, it was gross. Never saw anyone cleaning the breakfast area (ornother common areas) and came down one morning to find same crumbs on chairs and floors that had been present day before.

Also was notes posted all over that pool was closing early for additional cleaning. Quite sure that wasn't happening either. Same paper scrap and leaves by the trees from previous days still there all week. Also mutiple tiles missing from ceiling. And the main pool was too cold to be in. Thankfully kids enjoyed the main pool.

Only one of the advertised arcade games was working - rest out of order all week.

So my final take is for a 1, maybe 2 night stay it was mostly adequate. For more, it was lacking in several areas. Most likely no price adjustment either for the lack of services. Undecided if I would stay here...

No lodging is necessarily perfect. “The plaza hotel and suites” has a number of positives going for it. The lobby is welcoming, complete with a fireplace, comfy over-sized chairs for relaxing. Clean, spacious, quiet, friendly and accommodating service. Room is spacious, clean. We booked the first floor with patio door, we travel with our dog so that made it very convenient for letting our dog out. Surprisingly, the screen was completely ripped on three sides, from its frame, nor was the glass on the patio doors clean. How is this not repaired, cleaned before assigning it to a guest. ||On site restaurant River City Bar and Grill. |Having a restaurant on site is a bonus. The quality of food and service depends on who is working and day of the week. Our first night, we took advantage of a 2 for $25 mix and match take out offer. We chose the burger and fries and the wings, the restaurant conveniently included disposable plates and utensils. Both choices were very tasty and the deal is great value for dinner. The second night we chose take out of dinners from the chefs menu, pan fried walleye and sautéed garlic shrimp, upon reaching our room, we realized no plates or utensils were provided. Second trip back to the restaurant to retrieve these items. We’d strongly suggest sticking to Pub food from this on site restaurant, these chefs’ dinners were disappointing, both lacking flavor and texture, at twice the price of the first nights take out pub fare.||Room furnishing style is traditional and neutral color palette. Everything appears to be fairly new, as does the carpeting. Our room had a small dining table and two chairs, great for in room dining. A small bar sink area along with the mini refrigerator and microwave and small sink. Bathroom was spacious as well, double sinks, lighted makeup mirror and blow dryer. However, another lack of maintenance (like the screen door), we were ankle deep in water after a shower, come on, clean your drains on a regular schedule. My most critical complaint I have is the bed linens. They were very thin, as were the pillows, the mattress was ok.||We did not use the pool area, but it looked very nice. Cute kids pool adjacent to a the regular pool.||Breakfast area was clean comfortable with plentiful seating. As others have stated, breakfast options seriously lacking. They clearly state this is a cold breakfast offering. They had instant oatmeal, plain, no toppings to choose from. It would be nice to slice a fresh banana into a bowl of cold cereal, none available. A nice touch was frozen breakfast sandwiches, not too bad. Except when I chose to heat it in our room microwave I found dried on cooked cheese in our microwave, housekeeping...

First things first, with how expensive this hotel is, I had a bad experience. I've been to cheaper hotels, and they were way better than this. When we got to our hotel room, the room was hot and musky. The ac was not on, and the refrigerator door was open. We turned on the ac unit and only one side of the ac unit was working. My sister went to talk to front desk about it and they said that maintenance wasn't on site, and they will ask someone else to come look at it. We left to the pool (which is probably the only thing good about the hotel, although the floors are super slippery when water gets on it). After coming back, my little sister said that the person that came to look at the ac unit came and switched it out. The ac unit was still not working properly. it hardly blew any cold air. Not only was it not working, but the person that replaced the ac unit left our door open in which someone could have gone into our room and stolen our personal items. My younger sister, cousin, and I had to sleep in a hot room for our time there which was 3 nights. The last night finally became cool enough after leaving the door propped opened for hours and opening the window overnight. My sister called the general manager to see if we could get a full refund because she talked to them about it and didn't get the problem fixed and they said that when the housekeeper went into the room, it was cool (which I mentioned earlier that we had to leave the door propped open, and the window open overnight) and so they were only giving her a partial refund. I would not recommend staying here. If you knew that you were having a big party (which we had at least 6 rooms reserved months in advance) you should've at least checked to see if the rooms were accommodating to your guests. Not only was it our room, but we also had family staying at the same hotel and they told us that their room were in the same condition as ours. Old house smell, ac wasn't on, refrigerator door was open, and ac unit barely worked in the room. Also, their breakfast was one of the cheapest breakfast foods I have ever experienced in a hotel. You had to heat up your own tiny sandwiches that was provided. All they had was cereal, oatmeal (which you had to make yourself) two sandwiches' (which you had to heat up yourself), Bagel (which had nothing to spread on your...
