We give this hotel 0 stars. We chose this hotel because of the location of things we wanted to do in Winona. My friend recommended this hotel and was flabbergasted by the photos I took below and to hear of our experience. We should have left the moment we checked into the hotel. Right after we checked in, the Manager said to us "it's ok for your child to be a little loud during the day but keep them quiet at night because I don't want to hear any complaints tonight". Then we got up into our room and noticed fingerprints on the microwave, mirror, and desk and it was even rusty on the inside of the microwave. The broken refrigerator. Hair and stains on the bedsheets and pillowcase. Stuff on the toilet paper. Towels were wet and dirty. We told the manager that it was unclean and he said that the cleaning staff wouldn't be in until the next day. I told him that we were not going to sleep in an unclean room and asked if we could have a different room. He shook his head no, so I asked if we could have our money back and we would find a different hotel. He said, "you can just leave". I said, I want my money then and he said "Basically you'll get your money back." I repeated and said, Basically I will get my money back or I will get my full refund since you aren't allowing us to stay in a different room. Anyways - I ended up calling the police because he refused to talk to me calling me rude because I repeated his verbiage for clarity and understanding. The police asked him if we could have another room and he said, "no, because she is just going to complain about the room when she leaves and she will still ask for a refund". Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. I asked the officers to come to the room with us to show them and the officers were the best part of this experience. The manager was rude to all of us. Customer care told me the franchise would have 2 days to get back to me to solve the issue and they didn't - tried to get ahold of customer care again and they refused to help me telling me I had to work it out with the hotel. They gave me fake phone numbers and emails to the upper management - lied about when the franchise owner would be in to talk to and even blocked my number from even trying to be able to call and had to use a friends phone to reach staff to try to get my money back. They didn't give me a full refund. Terrible service. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Hotel should close. And for those who are interested one of their workers who apologized to me for the managers behavior told me that the Manager and franchise owner are related.

Our company booked us a 4 day stay for a job in town. At 10:40 p.m. on the second night, when we were already falling asleep, we received an accusatory phone call from the manager demanding why I gave the hotel 1 star. I had no idea what he was talking about. I'm half asleep, half annoyed from this. Apparently, my coworker had left a 1 star review because he found a chunk of hair in his folded towel provided by the hotel. The manager's ego was so hurt, he wanted us to come to the front desk to "verify," whatever that means. I told him this was a ridiculous time to be calling a customer over something so petty, and we'd deal with it in the morning, and hanged up. This morning, we open the door to this passive-aggressive note telling us to check out early on the 3rd day. And so we did. There's a reason why this is a 2 star hotel, people, and the stand-offish manager has a LOT to do with it.

The good: It was $65 for a night, the place was very clean, the staff was pretty helpful, the rooms are pretty updated compared to other Super8s I've stayed at, and the bed was pretty comfortable. The not-so-good: The bed they claimed was a queen was a full, possibly a double. The water pressure from the shower was akin to someone spitting water out of their mouth, and the water never got warmer than slightly more the lukewarm. Whatever you do, don't eat the biscuits and gravy at breakfast. I've got to be honest, though. It was only $65. I can't really complain about our stay. I didn't come into it thinking we were staying at the Park Hyatt, and neither should you. It's clean, and the staff are helpful. That's about all I need. I'll definitely be coming back next time I need a place to stay in Winona.

We checked in 10/29/21 at around 3:30 pm and the male clerk was extremely high. He could almost not function. We we had to ask for our room keys multiple times. We then asked how early we could check out that Monday and was told we could only check out at 11 am, we explained we would be leaving town around 8 am and he got rude and said no only 11 am. The process of checking in took around 45 minutes. Then off to our room we got to it not expecting the best. But we're definitely food by the online site the micro sized room left much to be imagined. Once entering a stale smoke smell staggered in the non smoking room. Stains riddled the carpet to form a new pattern. The bathroom light switch scattered. It was already cold so thankfully they had set the air down and had the air cool for us. Then we spent the night listening to a couple party's they allowed local teens to host. How nice of them. Since we didn't get much rest we took our self to the lobby for breakfast and quickly found out breakfast is now a grab and go brown paper bag with the contents being a granola bar water bottle a fruit cup and a knock off cinnamon roll. A big disappointment after everything else we dealt with. Either way we got on with our trip I went and to the front desk clerk we would need services. Then caught the maid as she was cleaning she was lovely btw super sweet. At once point I was standing outside and witnessed illegal drug activity, and a few minutes later a escort..... thankfully our children were not with me. Anyway we get along with our trip and hope we have seen the worse behind us. I barely sleep because I'm worried of what may go on at the super 8. Late Sunday evening we get in and both keys are deactivated we go get them rekeyed and find out someone had been in our room all of our things moved around messed with now cleaning done, but just stuff moved around everywhere. I've never felt so violated nothing was missing but just that they would allow and employee access to do that is so insane. We packed everything up that night slept in Mondays outfit just in case we need to go. Never would I recommend anyone go...

I checked in at 12 pm 9/6/25 was supposed to stay till 9/8/25. I took a shower because the room looked clean and fine. After my shower I left to go out into the city with friends, and we get back to the hotel and pull down sheets so we can lay, and there were stains on the sheets, a bug was on the mattress under the sheets, so at 3:00pm we go to front desk to check out, requesting a refund as we were only there for an hour. The man at the front desk was very rude, rolling his eyes as I was explaining how nasty the room was and that we don’t feel comfortable staying. He then said to call Expedia to get a refund. We called sat on the phone for 10 minutes, Expedia called the hotel to speak to the manager, and the manager refused to give any type of refund. After the call we try Expedia we called the hotel, spoke to the man at the front desk again, he said the “room was clean” and that they will not be issuing a refund. We then had the manager on the phone, who was EXTREMELY rude, yelling at us over the phone saying we don’t get a refund because I took a shower. Making the room “used”. I said charge me for today that’s fine I want a refund for Sunday night as I am not going to be in the hotel. He said that is not how it works due to me taking a shower. He then got a very nasty tone on the phone, and I had tried explaining again that I don’t want a full refund just charge me for tonight and refund the rest. Very very unprofessional. I do NOT recommend staying here unless you want to feel dirty sitting on the bed. With stains on the walls and sheets. I will say the women who checked me in was very very sweet. For $230 for 2 night I expected better customer service.

Tried contacting them again at 6:00pm. Hotel is ignoring all calls now. This is ridiculous.

Finally got my refund after 1 month of attempting to get it....
