I was with a large group so this hotel was not my choice. I would describe my room as dark and depressing with a heavy patterned drape covering the patio door; the sheer curtain behind it was missing. It was one of those drapes that allowed the parking lot light to shine through the side. The worst part of the stay was the mold in the bath tub. I lifted the bath mat to move it and it was full of mold/mildew. The mat was falling apart because of it. Obviously housekeeping hadn't moved the mat at all when cleaning. The towel rack was missing as was the hook on the back of the bathroom door. Housekeeping came while I was out of the room for the day and "cleaned" the tub and put a new mat down. The tub was permanently stained but at least there was a new mat. I noticed there was now a new towel rack installed even though I didn't mention it to the desk clerk. ||The only cups in the room were two unwrapped styrofoam cups on the desk. As for the desk, there were no plugins for electronic devices on the lamp as most other hotels have. You had to crawl under the desk to plug anything in. You would think a hotel described as a "conference center" would have rooms equipped to handle laptop plugins. ||This was definitely a no frills hotel. No pens or pads of paper by the phone, one of the people I was traveling with said there was no phone in their room. Another person with our group asked to be moved to a different room since hers was situated over mechanical and very noisy.||The breakfast room was cramped and food was mediocre with few choices. When I used the juice dispenser a small fly was in my orange juice. ||I have no complaints about the staff as they were accommodating and friendly.||The room had two queen beds. One newer than the other. It was comfortable enough and bedding was clean. I was there two nights and glad that I didn't have to spend a lot of time in the room!||There are much better hotels in the area so look around before...

Read moreThe purpose of my review is to not discourage other people from staying here, but to be informed that this Best Western is NOT affiliated with the other Best Westerns, therefor you will not get your membership discount & points here & this IS a very pricey place to stay at! The main reason for my review is to reach out to River Port Inn in hopes to finally speak to someone in management. We recently stayed there & after I arrived home & looked at my bill I noticed my AARP discount was not applied to my bill. I was hoping to talk to someone to get this straightened out. I have repeatedly tried calling but no one answers, or I get hung up on, or I get dead air & silence when the phone is answered. We arrived with no reservations because we were travelling & needed to stop for the night & we have a membership with Best Westerns so we always try to stay at one. Upon entering & approaching the front desk the attendant left & we stood there waiting for a good while till she finally came back. We finally got a room & was told we could pull our boat around back to park. It was a crazy 90° right turn between the dumpsters & building, that almost ended badly. When we reached the back, there was no place to park. Ended up in Targets parking lot. Reached our room, it was nice & clean. Sunday morning breakfast didnt start to 7am which is fantastic for the hangover crowd but not for the early morning travelers. The food was ok, but honestly for the price of the room I really expected more of a selection. The pricey room fee, no membership discount & not even getting my aarp discount, the lack of parking, the desk clerk quality of customer service & the late breakfast was all a huge let down. These are the reasons...
