We enjoyed our trip to Legoland and staying at this hotel was a great choice. It is super close and the views over the lake are lovely so do ask for a room facing the back. The hotel is updated and we had yummy food, drinks, comfy sheets, clean towels, a giant walk in shower, and great service. Our only struggle was with the layout of the room which was very awkward for the 3 of us for 2 reasons; 1) because the pull out sofa is a curved sofa and 2) the a/c unit forces the air right into your face. The curved sofa was lovely to look at, but it sits diagonally against the one available corner of the room leaving almost no floor space for kids to play on the floor and parents to pass through. Because of this layout, it is uncomfortable to watch TV while everyone is in bed because your bed faces away from the TV. Yes you can move the TV toward the bed or toward the pull out sofa, but we could not all watch TV at once. In our effort to compromise, we wound up with very stiff necks. Another awkward thing was the a/c. The a/c worked very well in the room, but because this hotel built a bookshelf to surround the a/c unit the freezing cold air was forced the flow horizontally toward your face while laying in beds versus dissipating around the entire space. The result was that it was freezing in bed, or against your body when walking around the room, but somehow still warm in general in the room. We enjoyed having breakfast at the outdoor seating area with comfy furniture. We liked the outdoor fireplace very much but really wished the fireplace was closer to where we could sit so we could enjoy it more. This hotel is across from Legoland which was fine for us, but do keep in mind it faces a busy 4 lane road that is noisy at night for light sleepers. The alarm clock did not play my noise reduction sounds from my ipod or phone so you are left with the buzzing traffic sounds and a/c unit. Breakfast was delicious but plan on 8-12$ a head on top of your night's stay. All in all, we would probably stay again because the staff was great and the rooms were very pretty and clean despite the...
Read moreRoom on a non descript Tuesday was 2 bills for 2 people with breakfast plus tax. Not the worst price, but a hotel room is where we go to sleep... didnt happen. The staff was friendly, but oblivious when I told them I didn't sleep barely at all because the strobe light that goes off all night. They replied " oh, that's the smoke detector. It does that in every room. Next time try putting a wash cloth over it. Thats what most people do." Seems like a pretty poor idea to me. Cover the smoke detector that is there to alert me to a fire that may kill me... no we will not follow that bit of advice. We will instead not stay at your hotel and suggest the same to others. Another strike was the lack of a tub- which after driving all day waw what I looked forward to most. Ok, by itself, not a deal breaker. The shower was ok if youre not a germaphobe...but... the slightly creepy bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash that who knows what person did to the bottles stuck on the wall... just eww. I get the recycling and cost reduction methods... but come on! Other companies can give individual bottles of shampoo and conditioner at a quarter of the price of your hotel rooms. The thoughts that went through my mind... eww... yuck! And then the icing on the cake was that the shower drain backed up and started flooding the shower. Mid shower. I looked down to see water swelling up from the drain while trying to wash off other people's used soap... Nope. Creepy and nasty. Next time, I sleep in my pickup at some walmart somewhere and shower in a truck stop with my own shampoo and soap. Guaranteed to sleep more soundly and feel cleaner...
Read moreMy family and I stayed here on 3/20/19 for our trip to Legoland the next day. This was definitely a new hotel and was very nice inside and out and I loved the room I was in. It probably was one of the nicer hotels I have stayed in a good while. Everything was good about this hotel except for the shower and the smoke detector/alarm. They seriously need to revisit their shower head selection as it does not angle downward enough and splatters all over the bathroom floor since they only have a half wall of glass separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom. I had to use an excess about of towels just to soak up the mess made. During the night while sleeping l, the smoke detector emittted a bright white strobe about once a minute or so. It was bright enough for me to see through my eyelids and kept me awake into the wee hours of the morning. I brought my room issues up to the front desk upon my check out and was told they knew about the issues and we're trying to fix them. The girl at the front desk said that next time I could put a wash cloth on top of the smoke detector to block the strobe. I found this answer unacceptable as it defeats the whole purpose of having a smoke detector in the room if you are going to obstruct it with some type of material. What if there was a fire in my room? There would be a delay in sensing if the detector was obstructed. I strongly suggest the hotel fixes the shower and smoke detector issues because it is holding the hotel back from being as great as...
