Walking in first thing I noticed was the sign with the specials on them. Some of it sounded delicious. The distance from the entrance to the ordering counter was appropriately spaced because the line gets long to order. One cashier and she has to take phone orders also. They take your order, you get a number, go sit down, they call your number, go get your food, and sit down. The sitting was nothing special nor any horrible, just basic quick dining not comfortable enough to sit back and chill and chat for a while. The area was nice sized, plus the was outside seating. They have a covered patio. The food was not impressive, period. It tasted basic. The falafel were gaint balls of bland chickpeas. My friend ordered so fried popcorn shrimp with stuff drizzled all over it and bananapeppers. To me, it looked like something a young person living at home created at because they had the munchies. I asked my friend why she ordered it, she said it sounded good. She picked through it but ultimately left most of it there. Now my meal was the special, sounded delicious as it was described, it had all things I like so I got it. The rice it came with was ok, nothing impressive, almost no effort at all. But the dish didn't look the same yummy it sounded so I wasn't very keen on it in the first place now. I tried it anyway. The tzatziki sauce was a joke. It was edible at best, not something I would ever want to eat again. It was truly a waste of my daily caloric intake. Not a place for us. Some may enjoy it, we did not. Not a...
Read moreThis may be an unpopular opinion, but we ate at the Krazy Greek today for the first time and it was mediocre at best. 🤷🏻♀️ Greek food is my favorite and we kept seeing rave reviews, so we tried it. We ate the chicken souvlaki platter and the falafel pita. The tzatziki was bland and tasted like plain sour cream. The rice pilaf was basically tasteless rice. The chicken was decently cooked, but nothing special. The Greek salad was probably the best thing we ate, but again, nothing special and pretty generic. The falafel was also okay, but not very crispy or flavorful and not even close to one I’d go back for. And the pita was doughy and just nothing extraordinary. The food almost felt like a non-Greek person’s attempt to make Greek food. The staff were probably the best part about our bland meal. They were sweet and helpful, but you can’t fix bland cooking if that is how your restaurant makes the food. Overall, I’m glad we tried it so we know that the best Greek food in Polk is definitely not at the Krazy Greek. The owner also told me this review is “far-fetched,” but unfortunately he may like bland Greek food, but I certainly do not. He even went so far as to harass me on Facebook. So unprofessional. Overall, if you like flavorful Greek food where the owners welcome you, try a few other great places in...

5 Stars – A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Home!
I can’t stop raving about The Crazy Greek in Winter Haven—this place is an absolute treasure! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted like family. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant—just like a true Greek taverna.
Now let’s talk about the food… WOW. Every bite tasted like it came straight from a yiayia’s kitchen in Athens. The gyro was perfectly seasoned, tender, and piled high with all the right fixings. The tzatziki? So fresh and garlicky, I wanted to take home a bucket of it. And don’t even get me started on the baklava—it was the perfect balance of sweet, flaky, and nutty goodness.
You can tell everything is made with love and care. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. I’ve been back three times this month already, and I’m bringing all my friends and family. If you’re in Winter Haven and haven’t tried The Crazy Greek yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place is the real deal!
