Disappointed. If you can make it further, stay somewhere else. Got in the room at 1:15am, room was about 85-90 degrees... unacceptable. The "popcorn" ceiling in the shower(yes, popcorn) was peeling. Light fixture for heat lamp(is it 1983), is all exposed and looks very dated. The bed spreads(is it 1983)...the air conditioner on high, barely blows, but sounds like it's blowing good(yes, I mean it's noisy, for barely working).. ice machine, the one, no ice, not sounding like it's gonna make ice anytime soon. I stay all over the country in many many hotels for work... this hotel has not been revamped or updated in decades I can guess. If you can make it a bit further in either direction... I advise you do... these beds are not comfortable either.

I rarely leave negative reviews but this travesty of a hotel needs to be put on notice. The last 3 nights were some of the worst I've experienced. Being prior military with plenty of time in tent cities this says something. The hotel is literally falling apart. See photos. I was serenaded every day until 730pm by constant hammering and power tools in the room below me. If you absolutely have to stay in Winterset and the Covered Bridge is your only option, do yourself a favor and buy a tent and sleeping bag to set up in a nearby field. You'll be better off than staying here.

Bill @ Front Desk is as friendly & helpful as others reported. Excellent value for such a well maintained, clean property. Bigger Mini fridge than most hotels. Very nice dark wood furniture. Lighting is well placed. Looks like a New Heat & Air unit. 💜 Love color scheme. The Comforter reminds me of my favorite quilt at home. Highly recommend. Winterset is a historic, quaint town, worth getting off the Interstate for. I'm traveling from Cedar Falls to Winfield, Ks by the OK border.

If I could, I wouldn’t even give a star. I have visited Winterset multiple times. I love the town and the people. Everyone is extremely friendly and nice, but this place was horrible. I originally was going to cancel my reservation but no one would answer the phone. I also emailed to try to cancel but heard no response so we were basically forced to move forward with the reservation. The day of check in I called to see if we could check in an hr early and someone actually answered the phone, Bill. He proceeded to tell me that he told the house keeper that we would leave a big tip. I thought that was slightly strange, I’ve stayed in multiple hotels and not once have I ever had someone say that before. We checked in and Bill said the same thing to my fiancé twice about leaving a tip. Tips are earned not given out or begged for. Their website mentioned fridge in room but when we got into our room, guess what wasn’t there? A fridge. Bill did fix this and had to take a fridge from another room. There’s a huge water stain in the shower on the ceiling. There was rust inside the bathroom. The shower hardly worked, bathtub spout is all messed up. My fiancé also found hand prints all over the head boards and had to ask for cleaning wipes so she could clean it herself. Bugs kept flying into the hallway which scared my 5 year old. Upon check out, Bill proceeded to ask my fiancé about leaving a tip which we had left a tip in the tip envelope they left on the dresser. Bill decided to call me hours after we checked out stating we didn’t leave a tip when we did. This place is horrible. I will also be reaching out the the BBB as this is NOT how you do business with customers on top of accusing them of certain things after we paid almost $300 for a run down hotel room. The only good...

I have so many amazing things to say I don’t even know where to start! Covered Bridge Inn is hands down the BEST venue you could ever hope for. First of all, owner Ingrid and coordinator Corrine have it down to a science. They have a plan A, B, C and D for everything. They are so flexible and accommodating to ensure that your wedding is perfect. Due to covid, we had to essentially plan the wedding 3 different times and they were right by our side with every option to help. We finally had a small wedding in December and it was PERFECT. They took what little decorations I had and ran with them, turning the barn and the ceremony space into gorgeous rustic spaces I couldn’t have even imagined were possible! One of the most incredible things about the venue is that you get it for the ENTIRE weekend! Thursday - Sunday. We checked into the gorgeous Inn Thursday and were able to settle in, relax, decorate, etc. at our own leisure! That is a huge stress eliminator! Additionally, they worked so well with all our vendors it’s like they are all one seamless team. I just cannot say enough amazing things about the Covered Bridge Inn. It was the best decision...

I wouldn't suggest this place to my worst enemy... the rooms were a bit messy but for the price we made due. The staff member who checked us in was very kind which was a plus. The owner or manager is absolutely atrocious however! We were up watching TV at a reasonable volume and the owner came up beating on our door yelling at us and told us if we didn't quiet down we'd be kicked out. I live in an apartment with very thin walls and my neighbors never hear my TV so I know i don't blast the TV anywhere. The whole experience made us very uncomfortable. In the morning we checked out and the same manager told us not to come back again...don't worry we weren't planning on it! Why this guy is a manager or even in any sort of customer service is beyond me. It seems like he's got a grudge against everyone and just wants people to pay then get kicked out or leave. Worst hotel experience I've ever had in my 20 years as an...
