Pizza Ranch — Restaurant in Winterset

My husband and I walked in on a Sunday morning with high hopes and appetites. Made our plates and sat down, the potatoes were cold along with the gravy, Mac and cheese and everything else on that side of steam table. I walked up to counter and informed the main lady that her food was cold. She immediately told her crew to pull the food which I was very happy to hear, however they did not. I returned to Buffett to get hot food and asked the guy if these were new items or if they had just reheated them. He proceeded to tell me they were new pans but the potatoes had same hole I had dug out of and he was setting there temping them which led be to believe they were trying to reheat them verses putting new hot food out. (And had not even tried to stir anything or I would have never noticed the potatoes looked the same as I had left them) I feel the staff did not try to make our visit better or make anything better considering we just spent $28.00 on 2 buffets and 2 pops. So we left with our bellies empty because I was not chancing food poisoning...And then as we left (we had only been there 15 mins) I got what I felt was a sarcastic “have a nice day”. I really enjoyed my stay at Winterset and the activities I was there for And would recommend visiting to anyone, just don’t eat at their local...

So this is a Rant & Rave. 1st of all Pizza Ranch really let us down yesterday. My daughter had reserved the back room for our granddaughters 1st birthday party. There was a total of 30 people we all get there yesterday & the manager informs my daughter that everyone has to order the buffet that we are not allowed to just order pizza. And that he would also charge 2 per child. So if you were to add that up it would have cost like $600 in total for everyone. So I told him we will not be doing that & we would take our business to pizza hut, that I am sure they would love our business. So I called pizza hut & asked to speak with the manager & his name is Max by the way. I told him what our situation was & he said give me 10 minutes & we will be ready for you all. So we arrived at pizza hut & they had everything set up for us. They accommodate us last minute & did an amazing job doing so. They definitely went above & beyond & our granddaughter had a great 1st birthday & the pizza was great! So thanks too pizza hut & all there...

Normally I order for delivery. Today my boyfriend came to see me and my kids and took us out for Lunch. We waited until 1:00 because we saw that there was a lot of cars in the parking lot. When we got there. There was a half a pizza on the Buffet and there was very little in the salad bar. We thought it wouldn't be to long before they replenish the food. So we got some chicken and our drinks. We got back and still there was no pizza and the salad bar was still didn't have much. My boyfriend ordered two pizza's to be put on the buffet and chicken fingers. We waited. When the pizza's came out we did get some of the pizza. Every table there had plates just setting on the tables. The lady that was running the front got a cart to start clearing the tables but left the cart in the walking area for the whole time we were there. I got to say it was a mess. For a place that dose a buffet they need to work on keeping food coming out and plates and silverware. We did get icecream on a plate. Needless to say we wont be back...
