Unlike some previous comments, I don't mind ordering at the counter and having my food delivered. What I do mind is eating surrounded by filth.
We are visiting from out of town on Fathers Day weekend and stopped in the HyVee grill for breakfast Sunday morning. We ordered and went into the seating area. Excluding the high top tables, which are difficult for me to sit at, there were 9 vacant tables. Of the 9 tables, 7 had dirty plates, cups, etc. The remaining 2 had been cleared of dishes, but were clearly not wiped. We chose the table with the least filth and I wiped it with a napkin and placed a napkin over the hunk of gelled syrup.
The food was OK. My hisband had a breakfast burrito and picked out all the sausage which was like black pieces of charcoal. I thought he was picking out black olives, but that was not the case. He said the flavor was good. I had French toast which was very good but my eggs were over cooked.
There was one table waiting food. The gentleman got his meal but the woman did not get hers until he was finished. The man went to the counter before he was done eating to ask about it and was told it was on the way. When our food arrived, they stopped the server to ask her about it and she said there was no ticket in for any orders. Another person came to her table to take her order and prepare her food.
