DO NOT STAY HERE! Me and my husband had a concert in Newark we went to and we just wanted to stay the night a cheep hotel to save on money. First off we called early in the morning to check on our reservations and we couldnāt get through to anyone, we tried several times. So we decided to just show up to check on our reservations. The lady was extremely rude to us and acted like we didnāt have a reservation. So we just went ahead and went to the concert. We ended up showing up at the hotel about 10:30pm, there was a different lady there and she was nice and for some reason it seemed like our reservation just magically appeared. We were both so tired. Iāve been up early in the morning to get to New Jersey in the first place so we figured whatever the room looked like we were just going to lay down. But the second we got in there, we got hit with the biggest smell of mold. Iām personally allergic to mold so when I smell it, I know that my entire nasal system is going to close up. I went to go use the bathroom, and I immediately came back out of it. There was mold in the shower and the towels were still damp. The sink had a huge crack in it, and there was even a hole in it. The sheets were stained, and they were also sheets on top of sheets like they didnāt even bother changing the last person set. The mattress itself, smelled like rotting flesh, and the drawers to the dresser were lined with mold. Floorboards also had mold on them. I personally help run a motel back home and this is just not OK. The parking lot is also small smaller than hell so if itās full, you have to park in a completely different parking lot. Very very noisy - next to Route 1 - noise levels are too high which can easily disturb your sleep. Quality of rooms are very bad. Lights are so dim so one cannot see the imperfections (I believe). Door knob was coming out. There was no ceiling fan in a very low ceiling height(may be 7.5 feet). Bathroom mirror cracked. A/C or heat not working(thank fully it was mid of march for me). Floor quality was absolutely the worst. NJ and NY are totally rundown places and it will be much better that everything should restart all over again. Overall quality of living is very substandard for very high prices. Worst thing - front desk folks were as rude and unfriendly as they could to add to the misery. Wifi password was provided - it was the weakest wifi - i decided to use my data plan. TV was not working and to report that-when i tried calling then phone was also not working. So i thought of going to front desk(it was a joke of a front desk)-nobody was there. Thanks god - it was just for few hours. Only good thing was parking was free as near to EWR most of the hotels don't have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDefinitely a good buy for your money. A bit of noise pollution from being alongside route one, I would recommend a white noise app or machine if you are a light sleeper. I think that they needs some more customer service skills and training, as well as better time management when having rooms booked clean and ready. Sometimes the check in process is quick and easy other times, there is no one waiting at the desk and you have to hang around even after ringing bell for quite sometime, the people that work at the desk here are not entirely familiar with manners or customer service as youād expect at a regular hotel, and the rest of the staff are frequently on their phones and distracted upon arrival. The most of the rooms smell of smoke including some non smoking. Some rooms have mold others do not, and the air filters are never clean. Itās really a 50/50 chance with this place. I will say after speaking and getting a better understand of the miscommunication the lady at the desk was very nice and reasonable. Overall decent.
