I come from an Asian family that went to dimsum every weekend. When I lived closer to nyc, my friends and I would delight in dimsum in nyc Chinatown 1-2x a week. This place deserves five stars. If I were assessing on food alone, the score breezingly exceed five stars as the dumplings are fresh and could easily be in competition with dimsum greats in NYC, Jing Fong and Nomwah. The issue stems from customer service. We tried to order take out by making a call and we're hung up on twice so we decided to just go in person and wait. No one came to get my order in the first 7-10 min but the restaurant had only one table to service in the spacious restaurant. The restaurant was clean and large like a mini banquet hall lined with aquariums for the live seafood.
Once I flagged someone to take my order he didn't give me a total or an estimated time, after I even asked he scampered into an abyss. Now this is waiting time where in this duration 3-4 families and a couple extra take out orders started to fill the place up. I waited for about 15-20 minutes which is okay given I ordered 2 shumai, roast pork bun, hargow, spring rolls, and garlic snowpea leaf in garlic. No one gave me an estimated time or am update, even when I tried to flag sometime down. Once I received my food it was hot steamy and well packed.
Each dimsum was perfect. The texture of the shumai in both pork and shrimp treated fresh, succulent, flavored paring excellently with black vinegar. Spring rolls were excellent packets of crunch filed with vegetables. The shrimp dumpling were delectable soft morsels. The roast pork bun were a touch small and my only quirk is that the char siu is a bit too sweet for my taste. That's a minimal concern as it was enjoyable. I wish they offered actual chili oil and not sambal oelek as that feels underwhelming out of lounge with the caliber of their dimsum.
Dimsum Seafood Restaurant is literally exactly that and they shine in this namesake almost effortlessly with the actual food. I will definitely eat there again as sit down service might be more manageable. I totally can see how larger parties and families eat here often as this is likely family driven space. The price for my meal of 5 dimsum wouldve been over $32 and decent. With the additional greens the total was $46. I just wish there was more communication from the staff but otherwise the food is...

On September 30, 2017, I held a birthday dinner for my mom. Several weeks prior, I sat down with the manager, Mr. Wei to discuss the menu. Through out the entire process, he and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, the price was EXCELLENT and the food was delicious.
The main dish that we designed the menu around was based on two 10lb. Alaskan king crabs. We discussed the 3 ways that they would be prepared, which included deep fried of the legs, dry steamed of the body, and glazed with the roe. Pictures will be provided.
The prepped the stage and the background curtains for us and threw in some desserts.
I have been to many authentic Chinese restaurants in NJ. When it comes to seafood, you typically want to select Canton style as they are known for their expertise. But out of all of the Canton seafood restaurants, there is no other place that has the same value, same quality, and same service as this place in Central Jersey. Forget Sunny Palace. They don't know how to cook. Wonder Seafood is small and unkempt. Only this location can get you what you want without traveling to NY or PA. Then again, if you go to NY, you will be paying a lot more for the same thing. Moreover, if you go to the wrong restaurants in NY or PA, you will be paying more... for way less.
There is nothing else really to say except to just select this location and speak with Mr. Wei for banquets or multi-table arrangements. Definitely can go there any time for any meal. When I went there to do a private taste test (not complimentary), I ordered the steamed Vancouver crab on glutenous rice. After taking 1 bite, I decided on the restaurant... of course, cemented by the unbeatable price. I was so satisfied, we left the largest tip ever at a...
Read moreGood tasting food that seemed a little high priced when you look at the menu. However the size of each entree is also large and makes the price reasonable to good. Getting fresh seafood dishes is more expensive as with most seafood places. Everything we ordered was well cooked and tasted very good to great. I had bought shrimp dim sum, beef moo shu, and shrimp with walnuts. This was take out and the one dish was not assembled to keep the shrimp and walnuts texture. The sauce for this was separate to not ruin the texture of the walnuts or the tempura-ed shrimp. We ordered in person and told it would take 30 minutes so we walked to the nearby QuicKChek for a drink. It was ready about 35 minutes from time we ordered. There were a few diners inside spaced appropriately from each table... the dining area is quite spacious.
Update for 7/2021: Dining indoors. Food was very good still and portions are huge… so if you are concerned the prices are higher, it because the dishes are much larger.
Ordered three dishes and they give sweet tofu and oranges as dessert for no extra charge. Still had enough for leftovers after eating for a party of 2. We had fried rice with shrimp and pork, crispy tofu, and soup dumplings.
There is also a great Special set dinner for take out only at $31.95 with multiple options for the two main dishes. May try that next in the near future
Food is definitely authentic Cantonese style and most of the dining in clientele are Chinese. That’s a really good sign to food taste...
