Travelodge by Wyndham Avenel Woodbridge — Hotel in Woodbridge Township

STAY AWAY! Just going to stick with the facts. Booked a king bed, non-smoking room for $73.07(With tax) using Wyndham Rewards App. Check-in is at 3pm, my husband and I arrived about 4:30. We travel constantly for work - sleep in hotels 48 weeks per year. We arrived exhausted after work; very nice woman at the front desk says the ONLY king room is being repaired. We have to wait 30 minutes, then she says an hour or two?? We tell her we need a room now - we have to be up at 5am and need sleep asap. She says she will "upgrade us to a queen". Umm, no? We booked a king - we want a king. She explains the queen is an upgrade because it has a hot tub and costs over $85 per night. I argued a few minutes that we didn't care about a hot tub - we want a king bed to sleep comfortably. Eventually I gave up and took the "upgrade". What a mistake. The door had no deadbolt, and the hot tub was the cheesy red heart-shaped monstrosity that I thought only existed in bad movies. The floor-to-ceiling mirrors still had hand prints. The bed curved downward in the middle and was clearly a double bed, not a queen. The bedside lamp didn't work and when I pulled out the nightstand to find the plug, I found a pair of panties balled up. Dirty underwear! Next to the bed. Meanwhile my husband was flipping through channels on the giant tv - one of the channels was porn. PORN. This was not some soft-core dirty movie with side boob or a nude butt shot. This was the Adult Channel in HD with hardcore sex. The last straw was the heater - an old floorboard base heater that looked like a fire hazard and didn't turn on. It's snowing/raining outside and the heat doesn't work. Back to the front desk - the King room was now available and they move us with no issue. The bed is... better than the first one. The TV wouldn't turn on - we got the maintenance man to fix the cords for us (Also had the Adult Channel) but half the channels didn't have sound!!! The same baseboard heater wasn't working - the maintenance man was happy to bring us a space heater!.... which wouldn't ever turn on. There was writing in several places on the walls, no coat hangers, not enough hot water, low water pressure and no deadbolts.

This place is complete trash and should be shut down. We moved furniture in front of the door for safety. We would have changed hotels but they had already immediately charged us $73.07 and the Comfort Inn down the road was over $165 for a King Room.

Pros: 1) larger than average bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion 2) very large flat screen tv 3) very nice (although incompetent) staff

Cons: 1) NO DEADBOLTS 2) hardcore porn on TV 3) no sound for half the channels 4) not enough hot water 5) worn out old beds 6) graffiti on the walls 7) smoke smell throughout the hallway 8) dirty panties in our first room 9) no blanket, only 2...

I had a horrible experience here. Staff was . Kept asking me to pay cash after he ran my card that i know had more then sufficient money on it. Asked me to go to atm and pay cash. Refused to give reciept and the told me to go somewhere else. Bugs everywhere. Centapedes spiders crawling on walls. Booked through wyndam. Never get my points from here. System always down or copy machine broken. Paid cash was refused a reciept. Staff was rude. I was in tears at one point. Worst stay evr. Stressful. No free continental breakfast. Thats a lie. Keep saying next w3k we ll have it. Felt like he stole my debit info and immediately called bankvofvamerica to check my balance. Had to move two times to get a clean working rome. Finaly gave up withvthevlast room. Stillvincomplete andvunfinished smelled like a party was just in myvroom. No garbage cans. Nothing. Half the channels are the same and have no volume. Companed and got ignored nothing was fixed. Staff very rude. Working with wyndam to get them kicked off the wyndam program. Dontvwant to jave to s3 anybody have to go through the stressful night i did. Beware. I believe the theyvare stealing credit card info and making u pay cash to avoid paing taxes that they are charging u!!! Have been in contact eveydayvwith my bank to make certain im not getting charged . Illegaly. What a stressful experience. Been to 16 different hotelsb in this area never been treated so horribly. Rooms with burnsv in beds. Dirty floors and uncleaned tubs. Smelled like a party hotel. Its too bad if the staff werent such nasty rude crooks id give it avdecent rate. Hopevthey get caught stealing from somebody and somebody more compident comes in to run the place. It has potential. Beware. Dont reccomend this place to anybody. Funny how all thiervgoodvreviews arevfromv indian people withvthe last name patel. Rathervstay acrossvthe street for fifty bucks and be treatedvlike a human being. Beware. Theyre crooks. Dont trust theese people. Only hotel that refused to give me a reciept for a cash transaction. Called wyndam to redeem my points and they told wyndam we never stayed here. Am in contact with wyndam on a daily basis to make sure they get caught screwing hard working americans. Something fishy about this place. Beware with your credit...

Well first I honestly hope you read this review before attempting to book a night stay at this place. I’m so sorry if you chose this place as an option. I have to be open about our experience and overall stay. 1- Dirty all around from entrance to room. 2- smells as if someone was smoking cigars, weed, throw up and then sprayed some sort of flower bathroom spray to cover they odor. It’s very nauseating, trust me! 3- the entrance door is cracked and shattered very unsafe for children. 4- the room, Disgusting! Mattress with holes; floor heaters and a rounding edges full of dust mites; windows unsafe for children; under tv stand where refrigerator,microwave is there are cockroach bate contraption, unsafe for children as they are curious; jacuzzi in room next to bed very unsanitary for a naked body to sit in; bathroom dirty sink as well as under toilet again unsanitary; the door contains of a chain not secure; all light switches do not work; no cups no blankets(just a sheet and a flimsy bed cover), old towels falling apart in bathroom. 5-they offer continental breakfast which is a brown paper bag with an apple orange a muffin and a granola bar brand chewy. 6-you can hear everything from moaning and groaning to a conversation. 7-overpriced (I paid for 6hours $123.00) 8- unsafe neighborhood 9- overall this place should be torn down, it’s actually unlivable and a health issue to children and adults.
