I gave the service 3 stars because the young kid working, really did us a favor and tried to assist us, even though I felt like he had to of known the condition of the hotel and rooms...he still was nice and tried, but other than that, this hotel is absolutely disgusting. I truly felt like a TERRIBLE mother for even staying there with my three babies. It was so dirty, so disgusting and SO UNSAFE, I didn't even sleep, I sat on top of the bed holding my kids so they could sleep through the storm. My family and I were driving through to South Dakota and hit a bad storm, tornado warnings, heavy rain, strong winds and fog, the driving conditions were not safe and we had to pull off, this was unfortunately the only hotel with available rooms, the nicer one across the street was fully booked. We pulled in at 3am, we checked out at 7am. The room was filthy. The carpet was crusty, the walls were grimy, the beds and sheets were dirty. Looked like blood stains, dirt, bodily fluids, the tv didn't work, despite other reviews, our door did lock BUT there were three kicked in doors around our room. The exit door on the second floor was broken into, the handle was shredded apart. There were two gentlemen selling drugs in the hallway and roaches all over. People were sleeping in their cars and hanging out in the back. I understand this is a cheaper hotel and more of a truck stop/construction worker overnight stop (that's what the guy told us when we complained) but this is completely unacceptable for any human being if you're going to be open to the public. If you're trying to stick to a "certain" clientele, then you should turn away others, especially families with small children and babies. As soon as that storm passed, we ran out of there. My husband went in and spoke to the manager and showed him photos of our bed sheets, the bathtub that was filled with dirty water and shower curtain had blood stains and they said they were so sorry and we should of asked for a new room and they'd refund us. It's been two weeks and we haven't received a refund yet. This place should be shut down or get new management with decent morals for...
Read moreThe gentleman that checked us in were extremely friendly I have no issues with the staff on that aspect. We went up to the room and the key card did not work we realized that obviously none of the key cards worked on any of the rooms cuz all of the rooms that we walked by were left ajar so people could get in and out of their rooms. I later went down to the ice machine and neither one of the ice machines are working. In our room there was a terrible leak in the bathroom and the bathroom sink would not drain. The air conditioner seem to be blowing cold air but the room was not getting cooled down by any means whatsoever so we had to sleep with the window wide open which had no screen on it. There is no pool and no continental breakfast so if it says that online that's not true. The coffee pot in our room had coffee grounds from the previous occupant so that was not cleaned which made me wonder about the rest of the room. The bed sheets did seem clean the bed was comfortable but I asked for a room with two queen beds and this was not too queen beds I think they were too full beds or two double beds but they were not queen beds. I asked about getting a rollaway bed they stated they could not do it however the documents they have in the room about their hotel amenities states they can do it which is not true. I guess you get what you pay for I but I still expected not to find coffee grounds in the room and a clogged bathroom sink On the first floor there was mold around the carpet area by the lobby. The bathroom tub would drain into the hallway in our room I don't understand why that was happening at all. It seems to me they just need to do some minor fixing around here and they're not doing that they're just totally neglecting this building that could absolutely be beautiful cuz it's a great location and the price is right but they're not taking care of that motel...
Read moreWe made our reservation 8 days prior to our stay. After over 14 hours on the road, pulling in at 8:30 in the evening with our 2 dogs, I went to go check in. The front desk said they had to go talk to the maintenance guy. After a long awkward wait they came back to tell me that our room was under renovation. I said that we had a made a reservation well in advance & would then like to get another room. However, they said they had no more rooms. I was quite upset & then asked why just our room was under renovation & if they knew it was why did they not save us another. They said numerous rooms were under renovation, & skipped over the later part of the question. Then I asked again, why they did not call us or at least email us of the situation before 8:30p.m as they had both forms of contact…no answer. I asked if they could call other areas hotels to help find somewhere else to stay…I was told they aren’t affiliated & could not assist. I was now upset & utterly exhausted…turned & walked out. As I was out telling my husband what just transpired the front desk guy came out & asked if we wanted to see the room. It was obviously in the midst of trying to be cleaned up from God knows what. There was still white stuff sprinkled all over the floor, a dehumidifier running on top of the AC. We reluctantly took it as we just needed to sleep some before our next 14hour drive. I slept in my clothes, wouldn’t allow the dogs to even sleep on the floor & couldn’t bring myself to step into the molded shower with flies after some sleep. I have called & I have emailed asking to talk to a manager since returning home…CRICKETS… They still charged us full price, so they got their money they don’t care! DO NOT STAY...
