We booked the Executive Suite for our overnight stop in readiness to visit Spomers Classic museum the next day. On arrival we were informed that our suite wasn't available as the previous guest had not booked out, had left their belongings in the room and could not be contacted. Thank you for being such a considerate guest!
However, Vanessa the manager had arranged another standard suite for us [the hotel was otherwise fully booked] and if it was okay would knock off $60. We asked to see it and at first glance it appeared okay. Our personal IHG preferences are a quiet room away from ice machines and the lift; this was close to the lift but, as that was all there was available, there was little choice.
But, a coach of foreign tourists descended upon the breakfast area [we shared a wall] and made an unbelievable noise until, at 9.50, we rang reception to complain. They dispersed, but regrettably, the 'elephants' in the room above took over and sounded like they were pounding the floor! Far too late to look for an alternative hotel we struggled to get off to sleep.
But at just after 5am, the 'elephants' above awoke and the breakfast staff started dragging chairs into their correct positions. A nightmare.
This was part of an extended 5-week trip and the worse hotel experience we've ever had.
In hindsight, perhaps the hotel should have dumped the overstaying guests' belongings in the suite we eventually had and released the reserved suite to us. Even the reduced price was ridiculously expensive for what we experienced and should have been provided for free of charge!

Read moreWe were excited to find out our friends were getting married in Worthington, the birthplace of the bride. All of us were pretty happy to get to enjoy a less busy place while focusing on the event. No traffic, awesome service, Perfect location. There is a grocery store across the lot that you can pick up sandwiches and deli stuff to stock your fridge so you don't have to go to a restaurant constantly. The breakfast was always plentiful and people friendly. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to just be asked how you're doing and actually want to give a response! The rooms were spotless and the hotel staff were just super cool. We were a fairly large group in town for a wedding and we all got the rooms we had reserved. And the price was so reasonable for all the amenities. The pool area is terrific and has room to sit down and work with wifi in range. The restaurant in the same lot is also wonderful and has great food options for people with allergies. Very accommodating. The executive suite was perfect for getting ready for the wedding and we enjoyed the space to meet friends and plan events. The management and staff (all of them) really care about your stay and do what they can to help. Amazing. Thanks for...
Read moreWalls are very thin and block very little noise from other rooms, We could hear every regular voice, cough, sneeze, etc.. The room next to us had guests who were loud late into the night. As we were about to call the front desk, we heard a knock on their door, murmurred voices and then it became quiet. I can only assume someone else called and complained about the noise. At 5:00 a.m., our radio alarm clock went off, but we didn't set the alarm (we also didn;t double check ourselves to make sure it wasn't still set from the previous guests). At 5:30 a.m. our phone rang with a wake up call, which we didn't request and by 6:00 am the guests next door to us were awake and we could hear them talking and getting ready. Needless to say, we were not impressed with the noise level to be heard in this hotel. When I mentioned to the person at the front desk about the noise level and the unexpected wake up call, she apologozed and said she would pass on the information, but didn't seem very concerned. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was good. If they could figure out the noise issue, I would consider staying here again, but not until then. If a good night sleep is what you need, I would not recommend...
