Rented three rooms. Lobby smelled like an ashtray upon entering. Lady checking me in seemed unaware of what she was doing. Even told me a story about how a lady “screwed up” her reservation and that wasn’t her fault and wasn’t going to help fix it for her. Went and turned on ac in all three upon arrival since it was about 90 degrees in each room. Left for dinner was gone about two hours and came back to a disaster. For starters one of my rooms was given to someone else. I had a key that opened the door but thankfully they had the security latch latched so I didn’t walk in on them. Then after returning to my room found roaches crawling all over the place. It’s like they came out as soon as we turned the lights off. Had roaches coming out of the microwave, trash can and refrigerator. Had roaches frozen in the icebox in the ice itself. Dead roach body parts under and around the microwave. Upon further inspection of our room it couldn’t have been cleaned by anyone with eyesight. There was chewing gum left on the headboard of the bed. The bathroom door hasn’t been wiped in a looong time. As we were packing to leave that room noticed a roach on my hat. The only good thing I can say is the lady working at night seemed to be compassionate and tried to help move us to another room but really didn’t wanna stayed there any longer. Only one room seemed clean enough to stay in but who knows. Like others have mentioned there was a truck load of people in the parking lot playing loud music. Sounded like a mariachi band. There were they pretty much all night. The pool was closed and seemed to be for a long time. The standing water in the pool seemed mosquito infested. The “continental” breakfast consist of a coffee machine, a juice machine, rice Krispy bars and granola bars. Thank God for Hardee’s and bojangles being close by. Very stingy with the towels too. Will not stay here again will stay in a tent if all other surrounding places are booked. No elevator and not handicap accessible for second floor residents. The furniture in hallway or common area seemed very 1970ish. The fixtures were gold which seems old as well. A complete renovation needs to be done. Deadbolt was broken on door of one of the rooms. Obviously no security because after 130am still people hanging out in the parking lot doing God knows what. After experiencing the roach issue just felt like we had bugs crawling all over us all night. Exhaust fan had dead bugs inside of the light cover so nobody has bothered cleaning that. Will definitely spend the extra money and stay somewhere nicer and cleaner next trip. Hate to be so negative but good lord a business needs to take pride in their accommodations. It’s not like they aren’t making tons of money. Most employees were not wearing a mask. Water pressure in shower was weak. Can’t swear there were bed bugs but I left with bites on my legs and feeling like things were crawling on me. Appliances don’t match in each room. Very...
Read moreStaying here was a last minute decision. I was headed to an event in that area, but by time I would have gotten there, it would have been well past dark and I didn't want to be setting up a tent in the dark.
On my way, I called the number listed for their motel and was able to book a room. Admittedly, it was more expensive than advertised, having to pay over $100 for 1 night where as the website and google said $62. Being I was halfway into my drive to get close to the event site, I went ahead and paid.
When I arrived, the check in process was easy. I was a bit amazed that this motel didn't have an elevator. Usually from what I've experienced "indoor" facing rooms most always usually have an elevator. Place in general looked a bit old and dingy and smelled of cigarette smoke. There was an old lady sitting in the lobby watching tv with a bunch of belongings on a cart. Either she was waiting on someone to pick her up or she was homeless, I'm not sure.
Lots of people going in and out to smoke. Random kids sitting out in the parking lot when I arrived. When I came back from picking up dinner, there were construction workers in the hallway talking loudly while sitting in a chair.
I got to my room, everything appeared to be mostly clean and quiet. Checked the mattress and didn't see any indications of bed bugs. Had linens and towels and the standard toiletries. There was trash behind the night stand that looked like foil bottle wrappers from wine coolers or beer.
Everything was fine until the next morning. I was sleeping pretty good until I heard someone messing with my door. THANK GOD I had the door latch flipped over though. No clue who it was, but they wiggled the door handle several times and then UNLOCKED my door!!! After they figured out that they couldn't get in, they moved on... or so I thought. About I don't know, 10 or 15 minutes later, someone came and started messing with my door again- wiggling the door handle. This time, I heard a kids voice say "can you let me in?"
I went to the door and looked out of the peep hole but didn't see anything. I kept looking and waiting for a couple of minutes and never saw anything move outside of my door. I was now wide awake and decided to go ahead and pack up and head out.
It was advertised as free breakfast, but nothing was even put out. It was advertised that there was a pool, yet signs up that pool was closed.
When I checked out, I told the lady at the front desk. She said that housekeeping wouldn't have been in that early as no one was there that worked housekeeping. She also advised me that she couldn't look on the cameras until Monday. Getting an answer was a moot point.
If I'm in the area and in need of a place to stay, I likely won't book a stay here.
This place needs a lot of work and other issues need to...
Read moreI am updating my review on this as the years have not been kind to this hotel. My family has been staying here for almost 20 years for family events / visits, and I personally have stayed 8 years (multiple times a year). The new management of this hotel is awful, and the hotel has suffered. The price has increased significantly while the room cleanliness, upkeep of the hotel, and amenities have dropped significantly. The last straw occurred on our most recent stay: We just attempted to stay in March 2024, and reserved a king room. Upon enter the room we discovered there was no hot water available (ice cold shower). After talking to the manager, he admitted the hot water heater was not working and knowingly put us in that side of the building. We were then moved to a smaller double room, which had electrical issues and a very loud buzzing sound in the bathroom. We asked for a full refund and left. After that, I found that my card was charged, refunded, and then charged a SECOND time for the stay after the manager stated he cancelled the reservation (he only modified it). When I approached the manager to get a printed copy for proof of refund, he was rude and argumentative, and at one point said I was trying to intimidate him. He also said "that didn't happen" when asking him why I was charged a second time, and I had to offer to show my CC statement before he would even look at his billing info. Honestly, for the price just pay a little more and stay in Jonesville for a much better experience. They've lost this entire family and...
