Worst food that I've ever had in my life! The first time that my husband & I went there, my husband got scallops that were slimey. I got the grilled chicken on a salad. The grilled chicken tasted and looked like thin rubber. The salad consisted of shredded iceburg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, & white onions only. It was exactly what you would get for toppings in a sub/sandwich shop except it didn't have the pickles. We went back there again 3 month's later to give it another chance since there is only primarily fast food restaurants in the area. This time my husband got the clam chowder. He said it was bland and watery with only a few tiny bits of canned clams. I got the teriyaki sirloin steak tips with rice. I should have known that it wasn't going to be good when the waitress never asked me how I would like my steak cooked. When she came back to the table to bring us hush puppies, which is what they appear to serve instead of bread or rolls in the South in a lot of places, I told her that I would like my steak cooked medium rare. The waitress said okay. When, I received my meal, the steak was in such tiny little pieces that it looked like chopped sirloin rather than sirloin tips. It was also cooked well done. Apparently, the waitress didn't asked how I wanted it cooked because they only cook it one way. The rice that came with it was only plain white. I just assumed it would be rice pilaf. I also got a sweet potato that I ate plain because they only serve margarine and not real butter. For some strange reason most of the entree's come with 2 choices of starches (baked or sweet potato, fries, & rice). They also give you Texas toast if you would like it. Perhaps they give you so many starches because it's inexpensive and people feel like they are getting a lot of food for the price. Needless to say, we won't be...
Read moreI have seen this place for years going down the interstate from Wilkes to Winston. But I don’t try new places often. I wish I’d stopped soon. My Bestfriend lives in Yadkinville and she’s mention she ate there. So this passed week I was in the mood for seafood and I decided to ask my BFF was the food any count there. And she said she has been about 4 times and she was satisfied each time she went. The reviews was really mixed, but most places has a few bad reviews, you can’t make everyone happy, and some people are just not happy no matter what. Here is my opinion. I loved it so much, I wanted to go back the very next day for another meal! As a kid my family didn’t live far from John boys and the flounder there was the best around but the last few years the food is not what it once was and always makes me sick. My parents love flounder but haven’t gotten any in a long time due to all the bones that’s in John boys fish. And it used to not be like that. I got the Canadian flounder, with French fries(recommended by Madison), my husband got chicken tenders, with french fries, one of my friends got the special (chop sirloin steak with baked potato) * also known as a hamburger steak*, and the other 3 friends got popcorn shrimp. All 6 of us was full happy and needed Togo boxes! And they automatically bring out bowls of hush puppies. I can’t wait to take my parents there to eat. And I hope to request the same waitress Or my little cousin’s friend that I found out works there as well. Our waitress Was a girl named Allison, my other pick...
Read moreMy husband and I ordered takeout this evening. This is the first time I have eaten here. An item was missing from the bag, and our fish was hanging outside of the box with a piece broke off in the bag. I understand people make mistakes, no big deal. I called, and was directed to speak to a manager. When they answered I began telling her my issue and was hung up on. I called back, told the young lady that answered, that the manager just hung up on me and she responded with, “uh no someone else was calling.” The manager, I believe her name is Vivian, got back on the phone, I told her our issue. She offered to credit a salad next time if I didn’t want to come pick up the salad. I told her I was willing to come back to get the missing item but would like my flounder to be replaced since it was poorly boxed and would be cold. She very rudely said that the flounder came like that but she would replace it this one time and next time I needed to check my own bag. Having worked in food service and knowing you always check an order before bagging, I got irritated back and said you should check it before you bag it. She responded with, “there’s a sign on the door.” I drove all the way back to pick up the food, the sign was not on the outside or inside of the door. I have never experienced such rude customer service from a manager. My family and I will not be back. For anyone else ordering takeout, CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Apparently it’s acceptable to send out incomplete orders and hold the guests responsible for their...
