"The Good": Baymont is an OK hotel that has interior hallways for the price in the immediate area . The bedding was clean, and the staff was friendly. It is next to the Black Bear Diner that, in my opinion, offers above average meals, so that is plus. "The Bad": It was not the worst place I have stayed at in the area, but it is pretty dated and appears "well lived in" (I stayed at another competitor's hotel a few blocks away that also has interior hallways a few weeks earlier, a stay that prompted me to try the Baymont... you can connect the dots). Although the grounds and room were so-so clean, it is evident that occasional deep cleaning is rarely done. "The Ugly": There were no usb ports to charge electronics, a lamp was unplugged and inoperative due to the knob of the switch was missing. The shower wall had a hole in it, and sink had a crack (was not linking). I had to plug in the alarm clock and set the time. The TV was small and had mediocre reception on half the channels. The ice machine in the hallway was inoperative, and the in-room phone had a red light blinking, but the phone had no index overlay giving directions on how to access any messages, call the front desk, etc. Outdoor security cameras appear to be non-operative with wires that have been cut. The breakfast is subpar with other hotels. Except for bagels and a toaster, the hot breakfast consists of microwavable packets for items such as a sausage/egg muffin or a sugar-coated waffle.||||In summary, although the Baymont is not perfect, it is better than other cheap motels that are in the area that cost much less. And unless you want to spend approximately an additional $50 to $100 for a room with potentially better facilities, amenities and reviews, this is one of your better options for a hotel in Yreka that has interior hallways. You will save a $100 or so, but you will have to put up with imperfections of the Baymont that come with...
Read moreWorst hotel. Unethical. Overbooked. Did not call me. Did not find me lodging elsewhere. I drove 38 miles to get there. It was almost 10p when I arrived. They said there were no vacancies. I had a reservation that they confirmed by email. I had two emails. The extremely uncaring Sonja, gave me a print-out that read that I cancelled the booking. Unethical. She said someone pressed the button for the room I chose at their location just before Priceline pressed it. Were palms greased? Unethical. She said I hadn't paid anything. That wasn't my fault. That is the agreement between Priceline and Baymont by Wyndham. She said that they were overbooked because of the fires. I said you have places to sleep. I needed a place to sleep and take my medicine. Was my well-being even thought of? No. I had a reservation I didnot cancel. Unethical. You owe me the 35 miles lost from my trip. That is 70 miles. You owe me a room to be used at my choosing at any of your locations or anywhere. You owe me more because of your unethical rude behavior.
The regular practice. It's not like this is a big city.
She made me a vagrant before I walked in so she could treat me as some people treat vagrants. No customer service. Sent to the street because of her unethical practices when paying $255 for a room! What a bunch of A-holes! Never go here. Never send your friends here. Never send your family. Boycott the Baymont by Wyndham!
*I am now safely inside somewhere that respected me, tonight. I didn't think there were any rooms available anywhere because of the fires. Too bad Baymont by Wyndham couldn't find one for...
Read moreWe have been staying at the Yreka Baymont Inn every year during an annual trip back from camping for 5 days. This year we arrived ready to shower, eat a good meal, and then relax in the pool before bed. Upon finding only one bottle of conditioner in the room I went down to the front desk to ask for shampoo for my family of 4. We were told that the hotel was completely out of shampoo and that they were waiting on the owners to approve a purchase order. This is absolutely unacceptable to not have such a basic need available to your customers. We had to try and clean our hair with nothing but conditioner. We also only had 2 towels in the room when my reservation clearly indicated 4 people, so I had to make another trip down to the front desk. We had to go to dinner that evening and continue our trip home the next day with greasy hair. In addition, something we have noted every year, the hallways always smell of cigarette smoke and if you are in a room near an entrance, the A/C unit will pull cigarette smoke into your room from people smoking just outside the door. After finding we could not even clean ourselves satisfactorily during this last stay, we will not be staying at this hotel again. We found another hotel in Yreka that is less expensive, has bigger rooms, does not smell of cigarette smoke, and provides all the amenities we need. They have lost a customer who has been staying at this hotel every year for...
