My focus is primarily on its pizza offerings as the non-pizza items were quite disappointing. The pizza itself was truly delightful and deserving of praise. However, it is important to note that individuals with gluten and dairy sensitivities may face limitations here, as the gluten-free crust contains cheese.
Considering my specific dietary requirements, I decided to sample the pulled pork plate and the smoked half chicken. Regrettably, both dishes fell short, warranting a modest 2/5 rating. The main issue was their excessive dryness, and the accompanying sides such as potatoes, slaw, and dinner roll failed to impress with their taste and appeal.
Moreover, the chicken's dry texture was quite pronounced, even leading to a crumbly sensation in the mouth. It is worth mentioning that our visit occurred an hour before closing, which could potentially have influenced the overall experience.
Due to my ongoing travel from Napa Valley to Seattle, I am unable to grant this establishment another opportunity. Nonetheless, I must acknowledge that the service provided was satisfactory, with no notable complaints in that regard.
In conclusion, this spot proves to be a haven for pizza enthusiasts, with its delightful pizza selection and commendable service. Yet, for individuals with dietary restrictions, such as gluten and dairy sensitivities, alternatives may be limited. While the pizza alone justifies a visit, other menu items may not live up to...
Read moreI stopped overnight in Yreka on my way to Portland a couple weeks ago and, hungry, I googled places to eat and picked Smoked Tomato Pie. It was hard to find, even with my GPS, as it’s tucked off-street in what looks like an office building, but don’t give up! This is by far the best pizza I’ve ever had! I asked for a half and half Marge and Vegetarian, and wandered around the closed dining space while they made it. The lady at the counter, who was an owner, I think, made me a lemonade which, again, was the best lemonade on the planet! I amused myself guessing the names of the people in the posters (got all of them except Slash) and took the pizza back to my motel. Both halves were delicious, absolutely, but the Marge, with the large pieces of roasted tomato, was beyond amazing! I’d go out of my way to stop here...
Read moreSTP is one of the best restaurants in the county. The regular menu features options from smoked meat plates, to salads to pizza. It is all fresh, they house make their sausage, baguettes and pizza crusts.
Then there is a random specials menu that changes regularly and it has options like sandwiches made on their fresh baguettes from banh mi, beef and lamb meatball to an awesome Cubano. There are also special salads, pies and BBQ plates on the rotation. So always plenty to choose from.
I rank STP right up there in terms of food quality with local spots like Denny Bar, Yaks and Clyde's Corner. Killer grub. The food is reasonably priced, but I usually eat here on cheat days and end up eating a whole pie, salad and sandwich or other option by myself. If you don't eat like you're starving you'll pay much...
