Could not find a place that would let us stay with our small pug dog that stays in his carrier, so the U-Haul company called around and found this place who said they would allow it this one time. We arrive, the outside looks quaint, nice new parking lot and paint job. We see the owner's wife dragging a bag of dirty linen across the parking lot which raised our eyebrows. We are shown to our room, and I just stood there in shock. The owner went in and played around with the television and remote which were very old and dirty. We tried to settle in, but the more I looked at and 'smelled' the room, I just could NOT picture staying in the room, let alone the bed. The room smelled of intense old body odor, feet, and feces, with a nice hint of crack cocaine. No kidding... The bed closest to the bathroom door had a large indent about 3" deep the size and shape of a large person's behind. Didn't want to know who why or what... So I opened the bathroom door and was almost knocked over by the intense septic tank fumes. The owner admitted they had just pumped it out, but the room was still very unlivable.||||We used their wi-fi to find another hotel that took our pet, that was much much better. Camping out in the truck would have been more acceptable! They only refunded 50% of our rate for a 20...
Read moreUntil they get an idea of what hospitality is all about, I would not recommend this place especially when they charge more than what is posted here. They charged us $60 and when we took our bags into the room I almost vomited. The beds were caved in, stained blankets and sheets, not to mention no towels. The man who owns the place is a nice man, I will give him that, but the room was something not fit for human usage. The bathroom smelled like putrefied feces, and there were finger streaks of God knows what smeared on the room walls, holes in the walls, chairs with so many dark filthy stains you could not see the original color. Did not want to even sit on the beds or take off my shoes for fear of getting scabies, or something like it. I did check for bedbugs, did not find any. Outside, the place looks quaint, inside... YUCK! PLEASE, if you want to stay in business, learn what proper hygiene is required for staying within health standards dictated by law. I was only given half of my $60 back when asking for a refund to leave. While in the room for the whole 30 minutes, I did use my laptop to find another hotel... so their wireless, is great! There, I said something nice! I wish them only good luck, but please learn to...
Read moreDon't listen to the negative reviews! This place is great! The price is awesome in comparison with the total rip off hotels located nearby. My girlfriend and I were desperate to find a hotel at a good price due to budget reasons, we checked around and most wanted around $160!!! We were shocked, even the Super 8 quoted me $180!!! That's basically highway robbery! We checked with the Sands Motel. Quoted me $60 over the phone. When we arrived he gave me the key so I could look in the room. My girlfriend and I did, we were satisfied and booked it. The room itself is older and the stuff is cheaper, but what do you expect from a budget motel right outside of Joshua Tree NP? The shower was great with plenty of hot water and the bed was comfy and nice for the both of us. We slept great and would definitely stay here again. This has been a great budget hotel, cause lord knows, I have seen some really really bad ones and this ain't even close. I highly recommend the...
