They have great coffee and even a good selection of beer. We did not try the good looking pastries, but hope to next time! Service was fast both times we went and once we got to sit on a couch but the second time we sat on wooden benches at a wooden table. It was a good place to people watch, lots of pretty tattoos and some cowboy types as well as tourists looking fine in their (clearly) new hats...this Cafe is right next door to one of the absolute best shops ever! Sure you will find great hats (my brother bought one) and gifts galore...also the best selection of cards, so cool and or funny or touching, I can't believe I haven't seen these elsewhere (priced from $1 to $10! I bought a fabulous skirt, sort of 80's retro (high waisted with (working) buttons lying vertically on each side like sailors pants. I'm 5'4" and weigh 165, these looked like a million bucks on me. I also bought 7 cotton handkerchiefs (bigger than a bandanna, but same concept ($12 each), I've been searching for these for 2 years, even on line with no success until this store. Cool clothes for men and women (although I was disappointed that the great pretty country-girl dresses had synthetic slips). But back to the Cafe, it was big and bright had almost funky decorations-but not, it lookd fun and like someone with a creative and artistic eye keeps the place looking like put-together western, funky style and well placed local artists paintings. We felt welcome to stay all day if we...
Read moreGuys, as a frequent visitor please figure out the dog policy. Conflicting messages are frustrating when trying to follow the rules. I've been told the dog can come in, I've been told he can sit while I eat inside, I've been told to come inside to eat with the dog when I was sitting outside, I've seen massive wolf dogs on the couch (not mine.) Then today I come in and get a 'dog speech' after ordering a coffee to go, confused I say 'i've never gotten this speech' and the woman says it's because my dog barked at the dog behind us in line before sniffing each other, but the dog speech started BEFORE this bark. Help, I'm so confused now, one lady is telling me to wait outside for the coffee 'usually' but not today', today I can wait inside, okay fine but how am I supposed to just read the vibe without getting in trouble? The woman with the larger dog behind me doesn't get the dog speech at all and goes and sits on the couch. What is the rule - if the dog barks once they have to go outside but if they don't bark its fine they can stay inside and wait for the order or sit down to eat? Can that be made crystal clear with a bark sign in front? I won't ever bring the dog again but this was a truly bizarre encounter after coming in for months with my very small by the way, dog and being told nothing...
Read moreI could never say enough about this amazing Cafe. It is quite literally one of two places I will eat at in the high desert. The other being Yucca Tree Eatery. I love the atmosphere. Somehow the tables are always clean, but it is a busy place. That always amazes me. The coffee is a bit acidic to me, but the selection of tea is excellent. I enjoy an iced green tea.
Let's get to the food! Wowzer the BLT is amazing. Super thick bacon plus pesto mayo! Omgeeeee. Then I also love the pesto pasta salad. Sometimes my husband and I split the BLT plus a side of pasta salad. For breakfast they have the yummiest most fluffy bagels! Please try the herb cream cheese too. One last food item I wanted to mention is the egg sandwich! Again with the pesto mayo on a brioche bun with arugula. I live 25 minutes away and some days I drive up there just for the breakfast sandwich.
One last mention here- the owner is an amazing up and coming music artist. He presents well! I see his Joshua Tree even from Palm Springs Palm Springs Palm Spriiiiings. He's is a hot boy.
If you know...
