UPDATE: 3/5 stars. A few hours after posting this review, the manager called us and personally apologized for the inconveniences we had during our stay. Given that we hadn't checked out yet, he discounted the restaurant item from our bill. He also promised to find out what had happened. He was very friendly and concerned.
---------Original review below:
2/5 stars. Serious lack of customer care culture.
The room is comfy and clean, the installations are well designed and the view from the pool is beautiful. Regrettably, the good stops there. If you do something besides sleeping at the hotel, you're going to have issues. I went with my wife and we both felt a serious lack of care which was pervasive among a large part of the staff. I am going to illustrate it with three examples.
My wife took a 20 minute bath in the indoor pool. When she came out she felt a slight itching in her skin. Given that the water had a strong smell of chlorine, we figured it was that. The itching became stronger but subsided after taking a shower. My wife usually swims in a public pool, so if the bleach was to blame it must have been a lot over the recommended dose. Our fears were confirmed later while dining with a view to the pool. A staff walked by the pool pouring a lot of dry chlorine from a basket without measuring it. And I mean A LOT, with evident disregard for procedure. After that, I figure he repeated the procedure in the in house pool. Total lack of care.
While dining, we ordered a soup and it came with a paper in it. But hey, everyone can make a mistake. We returned it and ordered another plate. However, this other plate was horrible to the eye --like someone had thrown the meal on the dish. And not only that but it lacked 3 out of 6 ingredients. Incredible. Total lack of care.
The next morning I asked the waiter to please boil some bottled water I gave him (I needed it for our baby's bottle). He asked me if taking the water from the espresso machine was OK. I told him no, I needed it for my baby, please boil this one. He told me that it was faster taking it out from the espresso machine. I repeated that I needed it for my baby, and asked to please boil the bottled water. He asked me "but, what's the difference?". Total...
Read moreFirstly, anyone who has given this hotel 5* reviews recently must have very low expectations of a hotel. This establishment is barely scraping a 3*. Unsure why Radisson has its name to this. I think they need an inspection rapidly. |Check in wasn’t very warm from the young lady on reception. No hello, she just said ‘passports’ then told us where to find our room. Welcome to Uruguay!!! |The Room smelled like stale urine. It was so tired, scuff marks on walls and furnishings dated and ready to scrap. The Bathroom bin needs binning itself, disgusting. No bottled drinking water is provided. You must pay for it. The tv and sockets did not work. Come on, we’re not in a third world country!!! Or would you have us think it is?! ||First floor corridor smells bad of chlorine from the indoor pool. |No active staff present. We Went to reception twice to ask about having some light food and a drink. Again reception staff seemed to not care and just waved and pointed towards the restaurant. There is no food between 4-8pm (is this hotel in the dark ages?). We eventually Found a man who seemed to mentally take 5 minutes to register that we were hotel guests wanting a drink. What a bizarre set up. It felt like we were an inconvenience. They are Certainly missing a trick here not having waiter service for extra revenue around the busy pool. ||Everywhere is just tired and not maintained. I would not recommend this hotel and glad we only had a short stay. We spent as much time as we physically could out of the hotel. Spend just a bit more and stay in Charco Hotel, we ate there and wish we’d seen this exquisite place :-( ||The breakfast wasn’t as bad as some reviews have stated. Basic but not bad. One man on checkout was nice. All in all, just stay elsewhere,...
Read moreI will agree with other recent posts, the evening and night front desk staff need training. I called and clearly stated the number of my group, needing one room. The clerk stated the price and I repeated back slowly, one digit at a time. Later, the rate changed due to the group size, "maybe the prior clerk did not realize there were 4 coming". Again, it was clearly stated It was late at night, the new clerk could not adjust the price but we together agreed that waiting until the morning would be best, as the mgr would be there to talk to. Next morning, no mgr is working.. They evidently phoned the mgr and instead of meeting me in the middle of the $50 over charge, they would offer an additional night at a reduced rate, as 'they couldn't adjust the prior nights agreed rate'. I expect this poor service from a 2star hotel, not this one. My business has been lost as there are far superior hotels in the area, with trained staff that don't...
