Hotel Alhambra — Hotel in Punta Del Este

Very vintage 80's hotel that owner's grandma built . Still keep in very good condition. And the owner is very niceb lady. She showed me where to go, play n eat. N help me to book a local tour on the follow day. So I can utilize my short day. And see more other than just the beach.. The hotel provides very basic service, it's very clean. I like the bed linens and the towel which are very white and good quality. ||Also the breakfast is very nice , It comes with Fresh orange juice, yogurt drink, coffee, fruits cup, water melon, different kind of bread, cream cheese, cheese and ham, jam, etc. I like the very classic cup and the cupboard. ||You can take the breakfast at the outdoor garden as well. Very nice especially in the morning. ||All the staff are very friendly. And they are flexible on the check out time in order to fit your schedule,( please check if you need), even I can take a shower after swam with the fur seal in Atlantic ocean before check out. It's a wonderful experience. ||The bar is also very classic you can't find the same style in other hotels. ||As I am not paying a 4 or 5 stars hotel price in Punta del Este. At the price I paid, it was worth it and more than I expected. ||Last but not least, the location is super super convenient, close to bus terminal, the popuular restaurant, beachs and the bar and shopping mall. We have stayed here twice - once at the very peak of high season (Jan.2014) and once at the nadir of the low season (July 2014). The price was the same. The room is not fancy - but who comes to Punta to stay in the room? Look out the window and you are delighted by the beach two short blocks away - Playa Brava - the beach with a great break and thus lots of surfers. Our room had a good sized fridge, part of a small kitchenette. Our beds were very comfortable. The breakfast is fine, again, not fancy.||The folks who work at the Alhambra are incredibly sweet and helpful. Their English is excellent and they helped us with communications that had nothing to do with our stay - (realtors? doctors? they're happy to help). They authentically seem to enjoy helping out tourists, even with finding other housing! The convenient underground parking (served by an elevator) is especially precious during high season when parking on the street is impossible. And the location smack in the center of all the good stuff: restaurants, shops, all very walkable is a delight. ||A friend from Buenos Aires recently came to Punta del Este and was so excited by finding a great value for money. Guess what? She found Hotel...
