I understand some feedback but... being european, used to travel for bleisure around the world with my family, for about 80eur per night I think some of them are not correct. The hotel is close to Registan square in a quiet corner close to the main road. You can reach it by taxi in 15/20 minutes for less than 5eur feom the airport. Rooms are normal sized for 2/3 persons, clean and comfortable. It offer only breakfast, a sort of "continental selection" of sweets and cooked eggs, salami, local dishes, nescafè and tea. It is possible to use a SPA but we did not visited it. Workers are very kind, ready to support and capable to find solutions and this is the real situation you will find. Internet is working good even for professional use, same as air conditioning. On the other side, we are not into an high developed area, this country is only beginning to build its infrastructure. Sometimes hot water is not available, diffusion of english language is not as you can expect but, this is the reason why cost of life here is so low. This hotel must grow, but workers make their very best to release a service for a 4 stars standard (here). Courtesy in asking, return courtesy in receiving... Frigobar is working but is not full on your arrive. This is easy to solve. Hot water missing (this is the worst problem we had, with a 3 yy old baby). Pool.... to be "improved" Outside services unavailable (easy to solve) Management not often available in structure (this is bad). On the other hand, ospital is closed, pharmacy also, feeling of safety is high, english speaking at a good level, cleaning is good, quiet good, decorations good. For this price hotel is good. Need more? Samarkand got dozens of 5 stars hotels. To the hotel, I suggest management to pay more attention to some detail and work hard for...
Read moreThe young lady at the front counter was great. Good at her job! A highlight of our service experience.
The average Uzbek bed, I have found, is quite firm. This was my experience at Samaria. I prefer softer beds but with firm being the average through my Uzbek experiences, I can't fault Samaria for that.
An annoying issue was the shower easily got water on the floor even with the curtain properly closed. There was also a back to the tub that was semi removed and should have been fixed prior to our arrival (details). This was the first tub I have seen where there is a 5 inch gap behind the tub. Shower water easily gets out because there is not a back curtain. A poor design with annoying clean up after showering. Also presents a safety hazard for slipping.
Breakfast on the roof top was good. Wide selection of foods. Plenty of comfortable seating with city views.
Some of the breakfast staff seemed annoyed that they had to maintain the food selections. Annoyed when customers were informing them that items needed attention or table settings needed replaced. If you can't work with the public, don't work with the public. It's not that hard.
Smell of sewer gas in bathrooms was unattractive.
I would come back if I didn't have many options. I would find a different hotel for my next visit if the option was there. The attention to detail that I would expect at a hotel in the West is not remotely being met at this location for the basic things. If someone can easily overlook these imperfections, then maybe this location would...
Read moreSamaria Hotel and Spa It was my first time in Uzbekistan and I’m very glad that I found this hotel .. Very professional, friendly, and caring staff. Rooms are spacious and super clean. Service is excellent i stayed at hotel three nights during our visit. Professional reception who communicate very well in English. Quite helpful, knowledgeable and respectful.( Mrs Aziza , Mr Shuhrat Let me tell you something real! This is the level Customer Service that meets pretty much all expectations you may have as a guest stating at this wonderful hotel! A true example of the service that's coming from their heart! . They were working at the Frint Desk. They all are kind and welcoming If you are comparing between and other 5 stars in Samarqand don’t doubt choosing Samaria Hotel and Spa . As I mentioned earlier A pleasant stay marked with spacious rooms with high ceilings and comfortable beds, a great buffet breakfast everything were fresh and beautifuly decorated and very polite and welcoming staffs. Mr Babur was way too friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a very nice spa and pool as well. The location is decent; a busyish area close to the airport and walking distance to the historical centre Overall highly recommended.
In summary, this hotel is excellent and I couldn’t recommend it enough. 10/10.
Thank you for making my journey a lot...
