AVOID!

I do not usually give these types of reviews and try to be as fair as possible, but this is one of those rare events. On my partner's phone the local app rating was 4.7, but on Google it was 3.7, so we decided to give it a try.

When we entered there was no greeting and our table was not cleaned and was covered in a layer of dust. It was not busy at all. The restrooms were not cleaned or maintained and had a foul odor. Kids were running around and the owners were fixing a tricycle in the middle of the restaurant.

There was a missed order with the food and they forgot to enter in our beef kebabs. The lamb skewers were overcooked and the chicken was incredibly salty. The manti casings were so dry, tough and under seasoned.

After we got the bill we asked to use the card to pay but the machine was not working and we were asked to move to another location (next store) to sort out the bill.

Maybe we had bad luck or caught them on an off day, but we won't be going back during our trip.

I advise other readers to go through the other reviews. Might save...

AVOID! I came here for lunch. It was not busy at all but the tables were dirty. It was impossible to get anyone’s attention as the servers were on their phone. No one was available to greet me. I ordered manty and langham soup, then order a plate of greens. Waited 10 minutes for the greens to arrive and had to flag a waiter twice. My food was cold by the time they finally brought it. They had to reheat the food and it turned out to be gross as the noodles in the soup turn out saggy.

The cleaning ladies were aggressively sweeping the seats and the floor. Bringing the dust up in a hot summer day! which all turned to be in a plate after.

No indoor seating. Only 3 fans in the entire huge seating area.

The bathroom is not free! You have to pay to use the toilet if you come to this establishment.

The food itself was mediocre. Manty were dry and flavorless. Langham was oily and overloaded with noodles, saggy noodles after...

Disappointing Experience – Slow Service & Average Food

I visited this restaurant last Sunday for dinner with Amane, a Japanese tourist I met at Registan Square and invited for dinner at Bibikhanum Teahouse. I ordered Plov and Shashlik, while she ordered Mastava. After our meal, we also ordered tea, which was good.

However, the overall experience was disappointing. The food did not meet expectations, and the service was extremely slow, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. The atmosphere felt dull, as if we were sitting alone in a large hall with little ambiance.

As someone who invited a guest and recommended this place, I felt embarrassed by the underwhelming experience. I had hoped to offer her a great local dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. Given the slow service and average food, I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially when there are better dining options...

Excellent position - the restaurant is located near Siab market and Bibi Khanum mosque. The staff is very polite, the dishes are brought quickly. The prices are very affordable, so a lot of local residents also come there to eat along with tourists. The food is delicious and made from fresh ingredients, I would especially recommend their samsa, plov (pilaf, osh), pelmeni (dumplings) and shashlik (meat on sticks grilled on carbon). ATTENTION: the bathroom isn't great, not very clean, at least it wasn't in April 2023. Unfortunately, it's common for Uzbek restaurants. So it's better to go to the toilet which is situated outside, in a few hundred meters, in front of Bibi-Khanum mosque, it costs a little and is much cleaner.

The food was amazing tasty ,varied and well made. But only when it came to the table. The waiters never paid any attention. The bill took forever to come. They service was shoddy, it was packed to the gills but still not an excuse to be inattentive. The worst was that they were unapologetic and smirked when we complained The food was rather tasty the tea was good, the pastries well made, the baklava was sticky and sweet like it should be, the sohteh was the highlight a rather serendipitous find but it was absolutely great. Vegetarian dish made if eggplant and tomatoes. Reminded me of rich curries we get back home in India. But be prepared for lousy service

Food was terrible, very touristic place with a lot of group tours. Our waiter with a particular "character" was rude and tried to charge us more. When we asked for the bill, he calculated on his phone the price: 180.000 Som. We did not find it quite right as we did not order much. We insisted to see the details of the bill.. After some discussion and a long waiting time we paid the correct price, which is almost half of the price the waiter tried to charge us at the beginning. Additionally, they charge 15% service fee which is not mentioned in the menu. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
