I run a travel agency, and to assist my guests with their accommodation, I booked this hotel through Agoda. It was only for one night, from August 9 to 10, and I had already been in contact with the hotel via Telegram for the past two weeks, sending copies of the guestsโ passports and other details.
On the 9th, I arrived at the hotel, made the card payment, and asked for the room keys so my guests could check in immediately. I told them that I had already sent the passport copies via messenger. However, the staff member I spoke to said she didnโt know anything about the messenger messages, told me not to worry, and said she would hold the room, but that I should return with the guests at dawn on the 10th to show their original passports for check-in.
When I rechecked the checkout time, Agoda listed it as 2:00 PM, but the front desk staff at the time told me it was 11:00 AM. Everything seemed suspicious, but I trusted her, confirmed the check-in and check-out times again, and left with the payment receipt in hand.
When I came back at dawn with the guests, the night front desk clerk (Umida) first said there was no such reservation. I showed her the Agoda booking confirmation and even the payment receipt, but right in front of the guests she told me confidently to wait three hours until the room was ready. I pleaded with her for 30 minutes, asking her to please give my guests their room right away. I explained that I had already paid for it and confirmed the booking, but it was no use. I recorded the entire incident.
This employee, Umida, kept repeating that she hadnโt received the payment herself, that she wasnโt the one working yesterday, and that I shouldnโt raise my voice at her because it wasnโt her responsibility. In my 18 years of running a travel agency, I had never experienced anything like this, and I felt deeply embarrassed and sorry for my guests.
In the end, I got back the 400,000 UZS I had paid, in cash, but my top priority was to immediately find another hotel for my guests. I ended up adding my own money to secure them a different place to stay. But that one hour felt like a hundred years to meโfull of anxiety and humiliation.
This hotel doesnโt deserve even one star, nor to be called a hotel at all. I believe the owner is not a local Uzbek but a foreigner (possibly Indian). I urge you to shut this hotel down immediately to prevent any more victims.
The female staff have no sense of responsibility, constantly saying, โItโs not my fault, donโt blame me.โ Is that how a real professional behavesโavoiding responsibility entirely, claiming โIโm just an employee here, so the hotelโs reputation has nothing to do with meโ?
Close this hotel at once. This is a disgrace to visitors coming...

It was my first time visit from USA after 15 years to Tashkent. Front desk doesnโt know what they are doing. Breakfast is very awful. They were holding my passport one night and didnโt say anything about it until I asked them about my passport. Every day they were asking me to give them room key to open the doors for other rooms, which is ridiculous because after long hours flight they didnโt let me to rest enough because of that damn key. Also asking visa questions. Long story short I DONโT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE THIS HOTEL. DO NOT RESERVE THIS HOTEL GUYS. I NEVER EVER VISIT THIS HOTEL ANYMORE VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH ALL STUFF. DO NOT USE THIS NEW YORK TASHKENT HOTEL ANYMORE. ALSO ITS DOES NOT WORTH THE NAME OF THE NEW YORK FOR THIS HOTEL. My advice change the name of the Hotel to Different Name. Itโs kind of Village Hostel . No Respect No Customer Service at all. If Iโd give them 0 star I definitely...

I had a very bad experience with Hotel New York Tashkent. The name on Booking.com was completely fake โ when I arrived, I realized the place was not the same hotel as in the listing. Everything looked different, and even the name of the property was not โHotel New York.โ
When I checked out, they refused to give me a proper registration document, which every hotel in Uzbekistan must provide. Instead, they handed me a fake invoice and told me it was the registration. That is not true and felt very dishonest.
I felt tricked and disappointed โ this is not acceptable, especially for travelers who trust Booking.com for verified listings. I strongly warn others not to book this place, and I hope Booking.com will investigate and remove this fake listing as soon...
