Kien Ngoc Villa (Thuộc Kiên Ngọc Hotel) — Hotel in Hải Phòng

The location is fabulous and the room is great. But unfortunately, that is where it ends... the owner also owns the hotel down the road, and this hotel does not receive the attention it needs. The pool turned green and couldn't be used. The cleaning was extremely poor (but that is to be expected when you employ teenage boys who spend their time sleeping or watching their phone in the lobby). Service was poor and unhelpful. Even to check out was a nightmare - the poor kid on the reception desk didn't know what to do and had to call 3 people, before someone finally arrived. And that's when they knew we were leaving! Breakfast is at the hotel down the road. It is simple and mainly traditional Vietnamese. Not related to the hotel, but it is also a shame about the serious overdevelopment of the area. The bay has been completely filled in and hundreds of hotels...

The staff is extremely very friendly, even since before we come to the hotel.

We got lost when trying to find Tuan Chau pier to Gia Luan, they sent us the direction. I had to cancel our original boat tour, and they helped us find a new tour in last minutes and it was much cheaper.

We were about buying night kayak tour to see glowing plankton, as the tour company tried to convince us we can see planktons. but the hotel were very honest telling us no planktons in December. It is like having local friends when staying at this hotel.

Room is very very clean, and new. Breakfast is limited at options, but they offered to cook something else only for us. Location is very good, close to everything.

A perfect place for nomads like me in Catba! The apartment is brand new and fully furnished, of modern style, with kitchen and 2 rooms (3 beds), where I often myself rolling from one to another 😀. The people working here are nice and greatly supportive to me. There is also a pool and steambath but not opened yet. Caution: the neighborhood may be noisy sometimes.
