I rarely write a bad review because I worked in hospitality myself, but this place was very disappointing - and we had been in 14 other places in Vietnam prior to this one. The room was spacious, it's close to the centre and the lady who makes breakfast was friendly. That was all positive.
But then, on arrival, in a pretty much deserted hotel, we gave our laundry and ordered breakfast. That was the last time we saw anyone at the reception for 24 HOURS.
The next morning, we had no idea when breakfast would be served. This turned out to be at 8 am, which is late in Vietnam, considering the sun rises at 6 am. We also only discovered this because we sent our air bnb host a text, who replied at 08.30, and then received our breakfast which was the worst we got during our entire stay in Vietnam - we don't understand all those great reviews.
Then, we took some of the bikes with flat tires and left. Still, no one at the reception. Some hours later, we were back. No one at the reception, again, and no idea when our laundry would be ready.
An hour later, still a deserted hotel. We messaged our host to ask if it was normal that there was no one at the reception because we had some questions and she replied that she was "quickly doing some shopping and would return soon."
Where was this shopping? In Ho Chi Min city?
Then the night came and we discovered that the walls are paper thin AND our room was divided with another room by a wooden door. We overheard EVERY conversation in the room next to us. But the entire hotel was empty. Why put the only two guests you have in adjacent rooms?
Forget about the wifi. Doesn't work, but I rarely found this to be the case during my entire stay in Vietnam. Tip: get a sim card!
There are tons of great places to stay in Vietnam. This is not one of them. If you don't want to receive any service, and sit in an abandonded hotel but STILL not get a good night's sleep? This is your spot. I hope this was just because it was low season, as I read the great reviews filled with superlatives. But even in the low season, guests deserve...
Read moreWe stayed here for nearly two weeks. We also stayed in the centre of the Ancient town. This was a preferable location. Easy to bike to the centre, great cafes nearby, away from the ‘hard sell’ in the Ancient Town. This hotel pays attention to detail which really makes your stay enjoyable. They turn on lights for you when you return at night, accomodate the children by finding pool toys and switching on the pool lights at night, providing extra coffee, because they know you need it to survive a holiday with three children. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleane and well serviced everyday. ||||Breakfast is simple but fresh and they will makes things on request. There is a rooster that crows at night. However, we have extensively explored this area and once you get out of the Ancient Town there are roosters everywhere. This hotel is down an alley which means you do not hear motorbikes all night. If you stay in the Ancient town you will be kept awake by bikes, people, night markets, dogs and roosters. Trust me one rooster at night is nothing compared to that. ||||It really is a lovely little haven away from the hussle and bussle We had a connecting which was perfect for our family of five. ||||I think you will be hard pushed to find anything else this fantastic in this...
Read moreRooms are spacious. The whole villa is pretty. It is also safe for they lock the gate every evening
The staff really tried to make sure that ill have the best experience during my stay. When i had a complain on my room, they agreed to change my room right away to a cleaner one. They even help me move my stuff. They communicate and reachable most of the time (except on midnights).
Food - their free bfast is good
Location - they are far from the busy areas which i like. They have free bike to roam around.. If by walk, you'll reach old town in 30mins. Kind of far. There's a nail salon and wet market nearby.
I visit on june and the weather is not cooperating. There have been power interruptions here and there, even at night, because of the weather. The interruption is bearable within the day but i cant take it at night. There's no flashlight in the room and generator on the villa. This isnt the hotel's problem though.
Overall, if the weather is nice, id probably give...
