My wife and I spent five nights here with friends (another couple) and their 1.5 year old son. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our time in Hoi An. The hotel is conveniently located in Cam Chau, a 10 min bike ride from Hoi An proper and 30 min bike ride from An Bang beach. The hotel provides free bikes which are in varying states of repair but get the job done. The area where the hotel is located is very quiet and provided a nice retreat at the end of the day. There is free breakfast with a good spread although it can get a bit hectic when there are large groups staying and food occasionally ran low. Three pool of varying sizes and a pool table were great for relaxing. Hotel staff were wonderful and attentive. A real family atmosphere. We received a free cooking lesson and dinner because of the length of our stay. Both were very basic — don’t expect gourmet food — but perfectly fine. If you’re interested in cooking lessons I would recommend booking through one of the big schools in town. The hotel lesson isn’t a good substitute. Would recommend trying to get a room on the second floor as ground floor rooms were a bit musty. WiFi went in and out, but who cares: you’re on vacation! Overall this is a fantastic, very well run, very well located hotel. Very comfortable but totally unpretentious. One of the highlights...
Read moreI booked a nice room here for my birthday. It was comfortable and spacious, but a bit old. My room only had a bath which was nice, but not always convenient. My TV didn't work, but was fixed after asking a few times. The Wi-Fi was terrible in my room, i stopped using it after a while. Breakfast was lovely! Plenty of options. The pool was a big plus but the sun chairs could have had cusions on them (very hard). The staff were friendly and helpful and the free bikes were handy as the hotel is about 2km away from old city center. ||Because I was staying for 4 nights they gave me a free set dinner for a night of my choice. I was told to go to the restaurant area where a grumpy lady warmed up what looked like some food from earlier that day, put it on a table and then left me there half in the dark without telling me what I was eating or even offering me anything to drink. After picking at the meal for a few minutes a went back to my room. I'm grateful for the complimentary dinner but this was very odd for me! |The cooking class was alright. Nothing special and very short. ||All in all it wasn't a bad stay! But I would definitely stay closer to the Ancient...
