Red Dragon is a restaurant located in a busy street in Hoi An. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We visited the restaurant for lunch and found the menu to be somewhat limited. I'm not sure if they have a separate dinner menu.
We ordered:
Fresh spring rolls with chicken: These were served on a bed of what I think was black sesame and anise. They were delicious and I would definitely order them again.
Chicken breast with mango salad and rice: The chicken breast was not actually a whole breast, but rather sliced and fried chicken. It was surprisingly juicy and flavorful, but a bit too oily and salty.
Bao bun with shrimp: They have a good selection of bao buns with different fillings. The shrimp came as a large fried "clump" and could have been served fresh or grilled instead. But overall, it was a good bao bun.
They also have a Happy Hour where they serve a variety of cocktails for 99k VND. These come in a 0.8 liter "bucket". We tried the "Dark 'n Stormy" and I would definitely recommend it. They also have wine and beer on offer during Happy Hour.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our visit to this restaurant. The food was good, the drinks were delicious, and the prices...
Read moreAs a coeliac, beginning to feel the sting of defeat as I discovered Knorr stock cubes used willy-nilly with the abandon of a Cossack making a foray into Russian territory, the Red Dragon hove into view in the nick of time. I found them on some blog by another coeliac who had done all the hard graft long before my arrival. The options were limited for those of us that avoid the vile gluten but they were good and cheap - cheap for someone that is used to Singapore prices. The staff were friendly enough, the underlings were fearful upon the dreaded question - "Is this gluten free?" What? Yes? No? What's gluten? To be fair, it was on the menu but I am antsy about these things because I have been surprised in the past. The overlord knew of what he spoke and we all had a delightful meal. The expat crowd were either all coeliacs or (and this is more likely) were there for the rather good cocktails and a french fry that would bring an American to their knees - we can only dream of such magic with the more prosaic Singapore potato, but that's my peasant stock rearing its ugly head. Anyway - tip top if you're a coeliac and even better if you're not, I imagine. Have at it with no...

I am French and am fond of cooking. So I want to give you a complete review of my meal in your restaurant.
The crispy tuna roll paired with passion fruit is a good idea. The acidity of the fruit helps "break" the fatty taste of the fish. But yogurt is probably not necessary because it accentuates the fat instead of helping acidity.
The duck breast was well cooked and this dish looks like French cuisine. But some ingredients in the recipe keep the dish in Vietnam. Good work. Maybe the sauce could be a little more fragrant.
I chose a crème brûlée for dessert. This classic French recipe was accompanied by a simple half passion fruit. What a great idea to get a contrast with the sugar. The cream was good so this simple dessert was perfect. Please don't change anything.
I am really happy with my meal in your restaurant and hope to come back to try...
